Jeremy1976:

So I am curious on what people think this is going to do to the collecting community.  Personally I think its devastating since you cant tell the difference between the bootleg and real ones.

White outline around the Nintendo seal is pretty obviously fake on this one.  But agreed, it's getting harder.

I don't think it will hurt the collecting community, as if a collector is serious, they will do the necessary research before buying - if someone doesn't care, then they'll take the punt.

It's been going on in the neogeo scene for years, and the prices there have only gone up.  People get better at spotting fakes as quick as they get better at producing them.

wiggy:

Nothing.

It will have virtually zero affect.  They've been around for years now and it hasn't affected the price of legit copies one bit.  Same goes for SNES and NES bootlegs.

Jeremy1976:

nes and snes bootlegs you can tell the difference.  You always have the option to open them up to check but these ds games look so close the the real deal.  This is the first I am seeing the fake ds games...I have seen the other gb fakes

palmer6strings:

I've seen fake ds games for a long while, mainly Pokemon.
