ps3 test console

A test PS3 will play all regions of PS1 and PS2 games. That's a way you could test it right there if you have any imported games. If it doesn't play them they I would say it's a factory refurb and they just slapped something together to make a customer happy.
If it does play them well you got a few things on your hands. It could possibly be a non test PS3 with a test shell and custom firmware. Or maybe it could be an extremely rare updated version of a test PS3 that can play blu ray movies. (Just a shot in the dark, lol)
