Sadly my newsfeed is full of political bs also. More so now than the day of voting.
It actually kind of pisses me off that of all things wrong, people are bitching about the what ifs and it not being fair, and and acting like the world has ended. Well it hasn't, we all still woke up to see the new day, instead of crying about those problems that doesn't really exist, go do something to positively enrich your problems.

I decided not to get into the hype of busting my ass to try to get a NES Mini right now. There will be more. Now if I happen to see one easily available at retail price in store, I'll get one, but not until then.

I guess it totally depends on where you live  :P. In my region, everyone is celebratory.

Same here, I will wait until I can buy one at retail price on internet or tell my brother that when he goes to buy the one he is planing on buying also buy one for me and send it to me. He lives in Miami.

If I wait until it gets on sale in my country, it will be 4 or 5 times the retail price. (Same as what's happening on eBay right now.

Didn't new Nintendo was going to make a famicom mini also

http://m.ebay.com/itm/Nintendo-Family-Computer-Classic-w-30-game-Mario-Famicom-Mini-NES-JPN-/112201529679?hash=item1a1fbb794f%3Ag%3AzO8AAOSw5cNYJWpu&_trkparms=pageci%253A32017982-a8d0-11e6-878f-74dbd1a0a931%257Cparentrq%253A586cea3e1580a6a8f3e18438fffc840b%257Ciid%253A2

I'll get one of these for sure when I can get it at the retail price. The game list is different, and if I am correct, the Famicom had better sound engine (in carts) and outputs stereo. I always wanted to try the Japan version of Metroid for the sound and the save feature (now replaced by save states!).

The famicom version of metroid was a disc game actually, which is why it featured saving. Early Fami games which saved were only able to do so because of the FDS, which is why those games DON'T save in the U.S. And elsewhere.

Finally picked one up last night. For retail price, it's neat, but I wouldn't pay more than that. Which display settings do you all prefer? Surprisingly, I found myself using Pixel Perfect the most.
Since I don't have an NES at the moment, I used to use an emulator plugged into the TV, removed overscan, used scanlines, and set the colors for RGB. Those are my preferred settings. If the NES Classic included Pixel Perfect with scanlines, that'd be my favorite.

I can't see myself even paying $60. Hopefully I can eventually snag one for less.

I have the real ROMS for these games. I'm in no hurry to get an NES Mini.

The funny things I did pay less than $60! $5 cheaper, but still...

Also, I thought you got one as I saw you post one in your IG.

Sure you're not thinking of the AVS NES?

Besides the collector value of this, there really isn't much benefit if you have these games already - especially if you havbe the AVS or Retron 5.
That said, I plan on keeping this at my family's, with whom I stay when I come in to my home town...so now I have access to these things without having to lug a system.  Which is nice.

Yeah, mang. But now that I look back I don't see the post, so maybe it was another modder or somethin'. In any case, I think this is neat for the novelty, but I plan on using this around the holidays, etc., and then it will probably sit and collect dust.

But it is so cute ! ;)
I think I'll keep mine under my monitor at work/home and play a few minutes here and there to relax. Yes, nothing that can't be done with an emulator, but I like hardware and official first party products. Besides, it works really well. I just wish that they would have made it somehow expandable.
