I've never spent the time to look at other websites that provide covers. For some reason, I did that this evening and found myself really annoyed. I just kind of flipped through a few of their forums and came across  shit ton of TCP covers that people pass off as their own.

What really bothered me was how people would post a cover (downloaded from our database) and get praised for their wonderful handy work or thanked for bringing this beautifully crafted cover into the world; instead of having the balls to say... "Hey, I know you're looking for this cover, I downloaded it from TCP."

Anyway, I just wanted to vent. I hate when people take credit for contributing work that isn't theirs.

Not sure if it's worse than the people selling them :P

I found a lot of Spanish forum users posted pictures of my Cassette Case Game Boy covers, of them in case. I did not read what they said.

good, i hope you sleep sound at night!
ahhh, the world.
shes a SLAG, but her resolve sometimes can be quite general.
HAH!
i don't care, no stake, besides, TCP makes ZERO concession for it's users with HTTP issues of various kinds, plus you have the TEMERITY to whine at others stealing TCP's work, seems rich to me, since the raws were supplied with no conditions.
you reap what you sew, suck it up.
get an FTP box for TCP, and i'll empathize.  ??? :o
[edit]
typo.

I hate people selling covers on ebay, but I have never come across with someone passing our covers as theirs in other forum. that's a shame that someone do that just to have some applause or congratulations from "his work" and that way trying to be recognized as someone important on that group, just because "he/she is solving " others needs with covers from us.

But sadly we can't do nothing  :'(

If you have Instagram, there's that gamecaseking who's all over the place and people seem to act like he's got this amazing product only he makes.  A lot of time he's selling a UGC with a print from here on one side, a wallpaper for the game on the other, and charging $8 for it.

I wouldn't even be upset at them selling the covers, if they would just say where they got them from.

That's the problem, if they mention were they got them then they wouldn't sell any, because everybody will come here to download and print them and is cheaper to buy a box of UGC or CGC, than pay them for The box and print of each game.

No body will mention TCP if they are selling the box with covers

So he took my inlay idea :P

I've seen a eBay seller use parts from my GBA template to make box art posters.

I did too, but I took a lazy route.  I print the same cover on the inside in black & white.

I think this is more of a morall than a "legal" discussion...  ;)

Legally no one needs TCPs permission to use our covers. Since TCP does not hold any rights to them to beginn with.

The rights to EVERY cover on this site belong solely to the respectiv publisher of each game (Nintendo, Sony, etc.).
