I've been thinking about casing up some of my dreamcast games, but I want them to look good.  I like how the Wii games are in white cases and have a nice color scheme, and since the Dreamcast covers are mostly white, that might be a good uniform look, but I've also seen some collections in black cases.

What are people here using?  White?  Black?  Other?  Clear?   Post your pics!

Ha ha.  Me too.

I've thought about converting my DC games to DVD cases, but I ended up deciding to stick with the original cases since my entire DC collection is CIB with the exception of one game.

However, if I was going to go with DVD cases, I would probably either go with white or orange.  I would consider black, but only with a very specific DC template that uses black.  I don't have it handy at the moment, but I've seen several DC covers here using it.

My Saturn and Sega CD games are all in DVD cases right now (white for Saturn and blue for Sega CD) and they look great, but I'm happy with my DC games in clear jewel cases.

I collect games for my personal enjoyment and not for the money. However, one day my game collection will go to my daughter or maybe even her kids (she's only 6 years old right now). I hope she gets good money for my collection. The cover project is great for making cases for games that didn't come in cases or replacing damaged covers. However, for consoles that had cases for their games (Genesis, TG-16, NEO GEO AES, DS, 3DS, Saturn, Dreamcast, SEGA CD), I want the original covers.

I've seen people on TCP, take their authentic PS1, DC, Saturn, etc... give or throw away the original Jewel cases & inserts, in favor of DVD cases. Their collections were worth thousands of dollars but are now worth hundreds.

Problem is many of mine don't have the jewel cases or guides, so I'm not worried about losing that.

I use white DVD cases for Dreamcast, orange for 32X CD, blue for Sega CD and the X-Box greatest hits gray for Saturn.  I only have a few of each kind though.

I get where you're coming from.  Difference is I don't have my childhood collection I'm reboxing, most of my game collection consists of loose cartridges and discs with smashed jewel cases, or just in paper sleeves.

I honestly thought about doing that (light blue for Sega CD, White or Grey for Saturn, Orange for Dreamcast, etc) but at the cost of buying the number of cases, I decided against it, it's still a possibility for me in the future thou since loose games are cheaper  ::)

Buy some jewel cases, print new artwork. Done, and you don't need to re-case all of your game which are still in the original jewel boxes ;)

Yeah, this.  Keep in mind that replacement clear jewel cases are MUCH cheaper than DVD cases.

If you are dead set, white works, as most DC games have a white template.

Maybe look into poly cases, it's like a dvd - jewel case hybrid. It's basically a DVD case the same height as a Jewel case, so if you have a mixed collection it works well.

I was considering switching to DVD, mine were in spare black for a while but ended up getting the cases off eBay. I hate jewel cases for PS1 and DC, but too many are in the cases to switch over :P

amace04,

For whatever reason, I haven't been able to attach any pics to this forum.  I sent you a quick email with a picture of my games.  It has the subject "Dreamcast cases".  It shows my Dreamcast, Saturn, Sega CD and my lone Sega 32X CD game.
