GG manuals are about 1/2" to 3/4" smaller than a Genesis manual.

Agree. Prefer to see a DS sized box for handhelds

Thanks

I hope he's not making them the size of Genesis boxes. That would take up entirely too much room for a tiny cartridge. They should be the size of Game Gear or DS boxes. If they're the size of Genesis cases, you can axe me off the list of buyers.

Disagree. You won't be able to fit the manuals.

Could go either way.  Good arguments for both.

Keep in mind, that if they are made tall enough to hold manuals (probably the same height as UGC), they will most likely not be as wide (probably half as wide).  So they probably won't take up as much space as you might think.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

SF has said he's aiming for them to be roughly the size of sega card cases.  So slimmer spine than retail game gear boxes, but height and depth of sega cases.

Sort of what I was thinking, but that's a better way of describing it.  I think my vote would be for this sized case.

I have a couple SEGA card cases that would be alright
The Half height case idea (large enough to hold manuals) makes the "portable" case visually distinctive next to regular cartridge cases

Hmmmm.... that is and interesting take on it.   :)

So here is the task at hand! I need to figure out what the larges height Game Gear (And/or Sega Card) booklet is.  ;)

Let me play with this idea.  8)

So half height but same depth? Are you thinking the cases would look like N-Gage cases then? Those are a pretty cool size and very unique IMO.

I used to work in injection molding, before being laid-off. So I know that the mold design has to be set in stone, because making even minor changes cost time & money.

The best suggestion I can give concerning size of case would be to get access to a GG retail box look at it's dims (the box has to contain the manuals) and go from there.
I have loose games, but I could get a retail box to check out...

Thanks

As I've said before, I feel like Game Gear cases should be about the size of PSP cases but made just big enough to hold the manual and game and be the color purple. If alls I could get was a case to hold just the game then I wouldn't buy cases and just keep them all in a shoebox still. Takes up less room that way.
What are you looking at? You think baby's don't like video games? THEN YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT ABOUT BABIES!!

I have mention this before too. If it isn't possible making them as the original height I prefer them to be as the PSP but big enough to hold manuals

I think the cases would look best at the same size as the original cardboard boxes. I have one here and it measures 6 in high x 4 3/8 in wide x 1 inch thick. This way the original oartwork scans wont have to be distorted.
