Pocky and Rocky was, like, a $20 game a few years ago! Why is it now over $100!

I guess I'm not buying that game . . .

Yup.  All sorts of random crap (and some good stuff) has sky rocketed over the years.  Another fine example?  Gargoyle's Quest II.  I paid $5 for that back about 5 years ago.  Now it's pushing $100 on eBay.  Sad.

Come on, man. Fucking SMW is worth $20-$25 bucks now. This can't possibly be a surprise.

Hopefully the bubble will pop in 5 to 10 years when all the newbie collectors drop out.

To be honest though, I do not think prices will ever be as low as they were 5 to 10 years ago.

I have a hair under 400 NES games. I will be hard press to get above 500, the prices are just too inflated for me to collect the last ~15% i would need.

Ya the NES and SNES prices are outrageous now.  I have the prices of games from 5-10 years ago in my head, and when I want to pick up a game I check out what the going rate is now and pretty much forget about it.  I would love for the theoretical bubble to burst so I can pick up some more SNES games but I have my doubts.

I honestly can't remember the last time I bought an NES or SNES game.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

I'm glad I knocked of some games I wanted, like SMRPG, Yoshi's Island, All-Stars, Super Metroid, ect.

I still want the Kirby games, but Dreamland 3 is $100 now.

I may just invest in a Everdrive.

^^ the likes of cartridge spoofers keep the original hardware alive.
a VERY much worthwhile investment.
krikzz knows his shit, though it's a bit rough on the forums.
still, at the end of the day, can't go wrong with a rom bank of as many possible supported RETAIL dumps (and fan hacks) on one literal cartridge.
...
the ED range is constantly updating, so look over options before committing.
i have a MED? (v1 revision i think)
that was determined after the fuckups on the forum-to-sales vendor link/vice-versa was the complete wrong files/support.
that was rectified after my piece, that and a friend giving me his MED in empathy. (sold his MD-HW complete combo)
the other spoofer is the n64 ED v2, works GREAT, and it was my first purchase from krikzz where i followed the intructions TO THE LETTER and my drugs were still sloshing around my skull, didn't have time to wear off, time is valuble and that.  ;D
...
if you can get cartridge spoofers, it's a lifesaver in the world of bs scalpers, it's ALL about the games, in TRUE fashion anyway.  :P
all the best to whichever card you get.  :D (you WON'T regret it, best ?$$$? spent ever...imo.)

I love how "scalper" is used for virtually anyone who sells a game at or near to its actual value.

^^ you got mre ALL wrong, besides, not like i know what the 'correct' value is.
my mind was elsewhere, scalper as in RIPPING OFF BASTARD charging over the odds.
shit, i was given LoZ WW limited-edit, and that bs goes for 40gbp average on so-called stupid-bay.
at least it separates the scalpers from the does.
the doers just do/play games, and the others...
well, they make a TIDY sum off the backs of the gullible, and i'm in the world to observe that, point out the absurdity of it.
...
that LoZ reference, that's not worth 40 quid imo, even if it's complete.
what i would have paid if it was as simple as that.
10gbp, is what i think that's worth, and that's a fraction of the RRP.
....
ya know what, i'll JUDGE based on my own ethics, screw it.
everybody is a scalper on the web unless they low-ball themselves, that simple.
and feel free to point out that 'flaw' because, i just don't engage in online sales, why i can comment on them, why i'll highlight the double-standard of it.
if i had to do a fraction of what some do on efucks, i'm sure i could procure a fireram from somewhere and make myself heard.  ;D
luckily, knowing the right folks helps, it's what made it possible for me to have no stake in the like, but again, i have EYES and will use them.  :P

It's called doing business. I.e. Buy low, sell high.  Far from absurd.

^^ it's a POV, one i consider EXTREMELY wrong with today's society, but that's just me.
so, what's the problem with a mer label?
the truth should NEVER hurt when there's fiscal prosperity to be had.
wow!
if i could make money on some levels as those 'humans' (loosely used word) without the empathy required in order live in so-called society and actually go to sleep (become vunerable) on the same street as those i'm fleecing, like i could GAFF what folks thought, or even said.
got money, got a nice slutty girl, sex on tap, life goes on.
...
dead serious, grow a thick skin, capitalism is a dual-edged blade, and it comes with the territory folks get fucked over, success at the cost of others, there has to be LOSS in that POS system.
...
what's the worst kind of label?
what does it even matter when you win, or won the rat-race backstabbing game?  ;D

In the same scope...just last year I was buying games for the dreamcast...hoping to get a full NA set over time.  Even scooped up a couple "pricey" games.  Now when I look, games have doubled in price!  My dream of a full na set is slowly fading lol

Its a bit disheartening to see this hobby get to be so popular and over run by resellers to make a quick buck.

Not that I mind paying market value for what I like but when everyone and their mother wants over market it, I feel, helps encourage every one else inflate their prices

I also think it's more and more people getting into the hobby, More people are being born every year.

I can kinda understand SMW being $20, as everyone who wants a SNES wants that game.
Mario/ Duck Hunt is pushing $10.

I wish I bought more games back when I started in 2009-2010, though honestly I kinda fell out of getting games as I don't have the time to play the ones I got recently.

I started a list of games I'm looking to get, ignoring games over $50

I have a list of SNES games that I want now that I had when I was younger.  The 4 I want the most are Mega Man X2 and X3, Chrono Trigger and Turtles in Time.  Well we all know what those go for now and I'm just looking for cart only.
