Red would look good.

I would do the full mile and paint the base as well, then add red LEDs inside it ;)
How complex would it be to make it play a SMB sound when you turn it one?  ;D

Maybe I should just put a working NES into the fan :P

I was going to go with brass because the rest of the fan is brass, I can post a picture of the fan as it is right now when I get home.

The metal parts are probably going to need to be repainted at some point, as the paint seems to be chipped off. I don't have them in hand yet.

If you mean the front, you can see a somewhat older picture in my collection thread (minus the new power supplies).  If you mean the back........... let's just say it's a jungle back there.  :-X

God, I'm jealous of some of you guys. Every retro store around my area is a complete rip off. They all charge ebay or above prices. I just don't get why they do. If I can get it on ebay for the same price, I sure as hell am not going to spend any money at your store anyway. I may as well sit on my couch with my feet up and wait for it to be delivered to me. Even thrift stores and Goodwills around me are guilty of this same practice. It's ridiculous. People don't go to a Goodwill to pay ebay prices. They'd just get it on ebay and not even bother with your store!

while I agree with the Goodwill one, though the Local Store, not so much.

- They (should) clean and test every game they have in the store.
- They have to pay fair prices to get the games from trade-ins to stock the store.
- They have rent and other bills to pay for the retail store, and pay employees.
- eBay prices are, for the most part, what the game is worth. Why sell it for less?

I agree.  If my local stores sell for the same price as eBay, I will shop there because I usually know those guys and I want to help contribute to the small business owner in my local area.

But I agree with the other poster about Goodwill stores, and I'll add flea markets to that as well.  They are't providing the same type of service and often don't guarantee their stuff, so it should cost less.
