So, I'm totally STOKED  about PlayStation VR, and have already preordered a bundle.  I'm cautiously worried that the peripheral will become like the Kinect, with developers realizing only a small subset of users have a Kinect and develop poorly for it.  But, the quality of the games that I'm seeing, and the backing for many more games has me thinking that this might become the 'must have' peripheral.  With Kinect, we didn't really know what to do with that, other than dance, which was pretty good.  What would make me squeal with excitement would be a Panzer Dragoon VR game.  Imagine an on-rails, dragon riding shooter!
I'm bender3455 on playstation network, feel free to add me!

That's the biggest problem with peripherals. Third party devs know that there's a LOT less money to be made by requiring such. This is why Nintendo packs-in things that have traditionally required peripherals (4-player ability, motion control, etc.)

It's gotta be there from the get-go so that devs won't even question whether or not they should use it.

My biggest concern is the number of different companies coming out with VR at about the same time.  It's already going to be s small market (at least at first) and that will be spread out among multiple different companies.  It probably won't be that different from the console wars, except there will be a lot less people buying it.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

I'm in, even if only for the fact I can play existing games and movies on it for a cinema effect.

I go most of my gaming on my own, so it's not particularly anti social for me.

I'll probably only get the Playstation 4 VR set, and even that only if there is really great games that really take good anvance of it.
Floating in air Minecraft is not good enough.

I still cannot fathom why anyone would want to to pay for VR...
Wasn't that the point of gaming in the irate place was so you could escape from reality for a while and enjoy and interactive story of sorts? Why would you want this bulky half helmet like object on your head that block out all of the existing world?

I love video games, I love delving into an alternate virtual lifestyle, but I also like being able to just press pause an sit the controller down and going elsewhere. Not having huge blinding goggles and headset. That I have to fenangle off my face, gloves to take off. Yada yada...

But hey, each to their own.live how you want to.
What are you looking at? You think baby's don't like video games? THEN YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT ABOUT BABIES!!

Because it's something to toy around with. VR isn't reality.

The phone attachments are the only VR products which I think will really take off, seeing as people who buy phones often buy accessories. LOTS of accessories. Not to mention that phone VR helmets are basically just hats that hold the phone close to your face, so they're cheap.

Actually I didn't... or at least did not remember.
Well any good immersive game from player's perspective with changing point of view by turning ones head.

It's cool. I thought you did, my bad.

Still, that is not for me. If someone else wants it, more power to them. It just defeats the purpose of gaming IMO.

I think this is where I sit with it.  I see no reason to be an early adopter here.  Wait and see IF it takes off, and which one takes off.
