So I recently moved into a new house.  Now I get to begin the fun part of unpacking and reshelving my collection.  But until that can happen...here it sits.  Breaks my heart to see it all...unkempt like this.

I still haven't decided if I will keep it in this room or not, but I at least separated it out based on which boxes have games, systems, controllers/wires, magazines, figures, and other collectibles.  Some of my daughter's stuff is in the front right corner, but the rest of it will eventually be shelved, cased (if needed) and displayed.  I figure this will probably take me the next few months, but I cataloged the majority of it, so if I need a specific game or controller, I can just find the corresponding box number.  However some of my more obscure items I didn't have time to fully sort, so they all went into miscellaneous boxes...so God help me if I need something from one of those.  Since I also acquire new stuff, that usually just gets thrown (not literally) on top of everything else.

I AM looking forward to getting this set up, though.  Feels like a new adventure.   :)

Congratulations your collection now looks almost as organised as mine, exept mine are in local storage, in my toilet, in my bedroom and 2 other rooms due to lack of space to properly organise them.

Is that where you keep the shitty games in your collection?

Come to think... actually yes.
All games I haven't bothered to sort are there.

I know the feeling.  I have a bedroom and bathroom stacked with boxes waiting for renovations to be finished so I can start on my new games room.

Hopefully this coming weekend I can start at least moving the boxes to the right room.

Luckily for me, my renovations didn't require anything game room related to be packed up.  However, no matter what precautions I take, dust keeps falling into that area...... and the drywall work begins this week, so that's not going to be fun.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

We had to move out 4.5 months ago.  Should be moving back in this weekend.  Knocked 2 houses together. 4 access points created between them, with 1.5 meter thick stone walls, 3 staircases removed, 2 new one in, 2 kitchens out, 1 new one in.  Old office/games room reverted to bedroom.  1 bedroom converted to office, 1 bedroom to be converted to games room.  Downstairs retiled, upstairs refloored (including joists and boards in some cases) New windows and doors throughout ground floor.  Now have a 350 square meter house.  I NEVER want to do this again. Lol

"Knocked 2 house together"

Sheep, were the two house built together, kinda like the townhomes you see in San Francisco?  Regardless, that's awesome, and will give you lots more room.  I know the feeling about not wanting to do it again; redoing a full size closet, and now the wife wants me to knock down a wall between 2 bedrooms to make it one 1 room.  That's going to be an interesting project.
I'm bender3455 on playstation network, feel free to add me!

It's an oldish pic (had already done quite a bit of work since this was taken, but before current project) but the door to the left was a holiday rental, the rest was us.  Now the whole thing is us.  We still have 2 detached holiday homes here on our domaine.  1 cottage and 1 converted barn. (Been living in the barn while the work has been going on)

I might as well hijack the thread completely and shamelessly plug my website at www.pechluna.com  -  sorry megatron  ;)

Once I finish up this master bathroom, we will have completely re-done every square foot of the main level of our house since we purchased it....... but even then we've only done a small fraction of what you've done with your project. Looking forward to seeing the finished pictures.   ;D

Nice to know I'm not alone.   :D

Luckily for me the house I bought is pretty new - at least in terms of renovations, so I shouldn't have to worry about repairs or remodeling any time soon...unless my wife decides she wants something.  Then I'm S.O.L.

Realistically, my daughter is going to get this room now, which means my collection will most likely move downstairs.  Or to my closet.  Yay.
Now begins the hunt for shelves that my wife is OK with...
