Cover Advice - New Printer? Need Suggestions!

JakeHC:
Hey guys,

So I'm just chilling at work and had this idea. Thought I'd hopefully get some feedback.

I've come to the realisation that I'm going to scrap my VHS cases for my n64 games and move on to some 27mm DVD cases to house my NES, SNES and N64 games since it's going to cost me an arm and a leg to import Shadowfoxes cases (i'll probably be getting those in the end though).

So currently at the moment I've got a cheap $30-40 dollar Canon inkjet printer. I'm wanting to get a very deep black colour for my spines. So I'm considering changing up printers. Anyone got a decent recommendations? Hopefully it'll be available in Australia but looking for a great quality printer with reasonable ink prices.

Alternatively, I'm thinking of just getting them printed elsewhere at like Officeworks or something if I can get it cheap enough.

Cheers!

Good paper and correct settings give good results.

I use cheap (40 Euro) Canon printer (as was my previous) and semi-gloss photo paper and my prints have perfect black.

Agree with Arseen, Canon printers are the best for me and are cheap too. Just good setting and paper. PLEASE DO NOT USE COPY PAPER (the normal one)

Here is TDIRunner's paper comparison picture. He compare copy paper (normal one) and a premium matte one

Ah sweet, that's great. I think I have a Pixma MG2260 - super cheap and does a decent job. I'll have to look into the different paper. I use a gloss photo paper but the black never seems to be rich enough. It's not bad by any means but I just wish it was darker haha.

Yeah gloss paper might need so much ink that the printer can't provide it, so I recommend semi-gloss which needs less ink.
