Hey there guys and gals!

Like most everyone else my collection is growing. I am currently at 1999 individual games (not counting doubles or my completely uncategorized FDS games). Question is: What should my 2000th game be? Should i go for a rarity, should I get an oddball just to poke fun (looking at you Superman64).

I don't want to spend a fortune but i figure i may as well have fun with this one. In case you are wondering what my collection consists of you can see it in my backloggery linked in my signature.

Well, what do you think?

Grats!

I'm a fan of oddballs personally. Superman 64, ET for the 2600, any of the Zelda games for the CDi, Deadly Towers for NES...

I already have Deadly Towers on NES and ET for the 2600. The Zeldas for CDi are tempting though.
EDIT: Just looked up the prices for these games, ouch i'm out!

A sealed copy of WWF No Mercy?  ;) ... seriously though fantastic game

I did the same thing when I bought my 1,000th game.  I'm not sure what to suggest, but I would go for something you enjoy rather then a bad game.  Either way, it will be memorable.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

Zelda's Adventure is the only truly heinous one. Wand of Gamelon and Faces of Evil are semi reasonable (I have both)... Of course it then requires you to have a CDi...

Go for a new system that you've been putting off buying, and make your 2000th whatever the pack-in game was for that system.

I agree with this,

but also I think for a "landmark" game, consider looking at games you wouldn't normally buy that get good to great reviews, (7+, out of 10) (for me that was "the little mermaid" on NES, wasn't sure about it until i played it, but damn it's great!), or maybe hunt for hidden gems, there's lots of good games out there that don't get the attention they deserve, we just have to find them!

Buy a game for a system that you don't own :)

Or maybe let me send you something to hit that 2K mark...

a membership to a hashhouse (redump, trurip, tosec) and treat yourself to FREE dat table downloads, kindly supplied by hard working dumpers, for the rest of us MOOKS trying to archive, and share.  ;D
yep, that's my recommendation for a 2000th, sign up to the most unfun loving forums, submit hashes that aren't catalogued yet, in the same way as raw scans are supplied here, to fill blanks.  ;D
a raid array would also be a nice self-gift, if you care for you works enough.  :P
