First off, I gotta say I love this site. I'm currently working on making covers for my GBA games by buying cheap CIB DS games at a local pawn shop (just for the cases). I really like the way the covers turn out. My poor GBA games have been hidden away in a big plastic container for far too long (mixed in with manuals, GB/GBC games, and my GB Camera).
Anyway, now I started worrying about my GB/GBC collection. I've got almost every Kirby game, all Zeldas, Metroid II, Donkey Kong, DK Land, Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow... Y'know, basically a lot of great games that defined my childhood. The poor things aren't on display at all - they're just neglected and forgotten. So, I'm thinking of making cases for them.
I'm having a hard time deciding on which option to go with. As far as I've seen, my options are:
a) Use an original DS case, slice up the GBA and DS slots so that a GB game will fit (upsidedown?).
b) Use any DS case, slice everything out and insert cardboard or foam with a GB-sized hole.
c) Use a 3DS case and put the game on top loosely sideways, strategically place foam so the game won't slide around.
So, my problem is that I would prefer the games to be facing rightsideup. I understand with option A, you can flip the case upsidedown for that effect. However, mutilating the limited GBA-type cases in existence makes me feel a little sick and I don't think I could acquire that many original DS cases (I have about 30 GB/GBC games).
Option B is kinda tempting with foam, but is it secure enough? I wish the game could snap in like option A.
Option C seems like a clever alternative to mutilating cases. I've got mixed feelings on it since the game is sideways and fairly loose.
Are there any other options I missed? Which method is most popular here?
