I'm new to the Cover Project and to making custom cases for my loose carts. The process seems pretty straight forward but I was having problems getting my artwork to fit. I followed the steps listed out on the various forums on this site which told me to print on legal sized paper and 11.22 by 7 dimensions for the artwork. After two hours of trying to figure out why the 11.22 by 7 was not fitting properly I discovered that the cases I bought are a slightly different size then the standard UGC. I was wondering if anybody has an idea as to what cases I have and what dimensions I need to use? I bought them from ModernVideo on Ebay if that helps.

It seems at some point they made the UGC slightly smaller. I have just been resizing them when I print them in Photoshop and scale it down to 99% and they fit perfectly.

A number of times, the company that produces UGC's changed the dimensions. Just use Photoshop (provided) and change the dimensions; Open up your file, go to Images and than to Image Size.

I've been using 11.05" x 7" with the UGC's I got last year and they fit well.

Just as an FYI guys, the case size has NOT changed at all. The sleeves are being affixed further from the edge, which leaves a little less room for printed inserts. Just print at 97-98% and you'll be fine :)

^^^ This is what I was going to say.

The sleeves on the UGCs that I'm using are so close to the original size, that I just print them off normally and cut off just a little more then needed (and I mean just a sliver more) and mine fit just fine.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

I ordered a used lot of Universal Game Cases from eBay and it turned out to be a Frankenstein lot. Their were 3 different sizes. On some, the spine was wider & others seem to be a larger case in general. Seems that the actual design changed a few times.

I guess I should have clarified that, if you buy them from media shelving, they are all the same (in terms of dimensions) and have been since I've been using them.

However, other companies have produced UGCs. I had some that were about 1/4" thicker than the media shelving cases that I used for packaging modded GBAs really early on.
