There's dozens of games that have been removed from the various marketplaces for one reason or another. Now I'm not aware of any uninstalling off of your hard drive if you had them installed, but there's at least one high profile game (Silent Hills PT) that is completely unable to be reinstalled (short of maybe hacking your system) if you ever uninstall it or have to switch consoles because yours broke. And let's not even get into the bullshit that was flappy bird phones.

TMNT magically disappeared when I transferred the data from my old 360 to my new one, and there's now way to get it back. It's the only thing that went poof, and I somehow doubt it was by accident.

Not to mention DLC just dissapearing. I bought ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 6 months ago and the DLC for it is no longer available, so I can't ever get the two extra characters. That shit is just beyond fucking annoying.

At least RockBand seems to have the right idea, even songs that are pulled due to loss of licensing can still be redownloded, even on RB4 transfer.

I get digital if cheep, I'm never going to play full $60 price for a digital download. I have over 100 Steam games, Humble Bundle and Sales are fun.  I also got some download codes for Nintendo games from ClubN and other promotions.

. . . if they know it might make you mad? You're the customer.
Apparently you do not fallow the AAA game industry much. Cut up DLC, broken games on launch, micro transactions, ect ect

Also Wiggy, look in your download history on your XBL account, I think that, even though it can not be purchased, it can still be redownloaded if it has been in the past on your account.

Not anymore, at least as best I can tell (and based on what I've read).

I hate to bring this up again, but as far as those saying you won't get the NX if it's digital, I understand that you want the physical games. But if they release the new Zelda only on the NX, you're not going to be able to refrain yourself. It's not going to be what you want, but you're going to want to play Zelda on the NX. As long as they have games that you want and can't get anywhere else, you don't have a choice. It's easy to say you'll just play your collection forever, but as more and more games come out that are must have exclusives, you're just going to really want it. I know it's easy to say that you'll refrain from it, but that's just something people say, but when the time comes, people always change their mind.

Also, you don't really think Nintendo would take away your games do you?

If digital is the only option... I'll wait.
The game will eventually be emulated on PC

Also, you don't really think Nintendo would take away your games do you?

I do, and they will definitely eventually drop support on older games.

Nintendo is banking on everyone thinking like this.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

Even though I feel like I barely just got my Wii U, I'm looking forward for the next generation just so it goes par on hardware so third party won't complain about this anymore and release all the goodies on it.
BUT... if it would be digital only, that means that even bad games will be, and remain expensive and you would have no way to resell. That would mean (for me) that I would never collect games for it and stricly only buy games I really want and have time to play. So maybe one or two games a year. So I would not consider this as a successful platform.
Unless they deliver games inside amiibo's data  :D

But what if Zelda on NX has the best graphics and story ever? Would you really refrain yourself from getting an NX just because it doesn't sell physical? Wiggy? TDI?

Another thing guys. Let's try to be realistic and positive. Nintendo sort of lost its edge in the console department to Sony and Microsoft. But they still have their own niche. Just imagine them being the first company to release a digital IOS/Android device. By doing that, they would be AHEAD of the game. They already know how to do well with handhelds like the 3ds and so on and so forth. Something like this could be a great niche for them. Like Wiggy said, they don't need another ''Me too'' console. Nintendo is trying to innovate, while Sony will be a spectator and will likely consider copying Nintendo, except they don't have the IPS to do it as well. That's what Nintendo has. Classic IPs.

Sony and Microsoft are the ''me too'' platforms. Nintendo could be ahead of those companies by getting into the smartphone market. I think we should look at this as a positive thing. This could be the path for Nintendo. I just don't see Nintendo succeeding if they make another Wii U or another ''me too'' console. We do not need another Playstation. I really see a bright future now for Nintendo. Wiggy really opened up my eyes. If it's just a portable Wii U, forget about it. This possible new Android/IOS streaming device could be just what Nintendo needs to succeed and move forward in the gaming industry.

Considering how crappy I thought Skyward Sword was, I'm not really looking forward to another Zelda all that much.

Also, don't tell me what I will and will not be able to do.  I've got a pretty significant back catalogue of games at this point. I'm pretty sure I could never buy another game in my life and be just fine.  Not to mention that I almost never actually play games at this point anyway. I don't have the time, and when I do, I'd honestly rather do something more productive. Not trying to be snobby or anything. I don't think gaming is a waste of anyone's time, I just don't find myself personally feeling all that compelled to spend time playing at the moment.

I've become far more of a collector than a gamer myself (and yes, this site is partially to blame)

Same.

I seem to only play Lego games anymore.
