I personally have no interest in VR. I think it takes away from what gaming is. I know I don't want to have this thing strapped to my head or stand in a unit.
I also know, that once the current systems die out, I'm not buying anymore new systems. This gen is such a pile of shit with all the stunts they've tried to pull, (online only, having to dl the whole game to your system, mediocre games, etc...) There will be plenty of games out there anyway that I haven't played so it's not like I would be missing out on anything.

This is pretty much my thoughts exactly.  Though, I'm struggling to find a whole lot of personal interest in even the current gen systems.  I get a bigger kick out of the classic systems than anything nowadays.

The current issue of Game Informer lists a bunch of titles slated to come out for VR.  Let's just say I'm very...hopeful.

The Vita looked pretty badass before it came to market too. Don't get me wrong, i would love for this to work out but It is hard to see enough quality software over a long period of time to make this a viable gaming peripheral.

Oh my god!  People still talk about VR?!

I feel like VR has been "right around the corner" for 25+ years.

Which makes it that much closer to working very well.

I think it's time we all take a step back and accept that technology is going to be able to do just about everything.

But yes, technology marches on with increasing speed.
Next few years will be interesting.

Oculus Rift pricing has been announced... $600. And then add tax and shipping...

That seems about $100 too high. Maybe more. And Valve has said that Vive is probably going to be MORE expensive than its competitors?

There's still hope of PlayStation VR coming in at a reasonable price.

The cost won't be as bad if they include some good pack in games, and more than just 1.

I have no doubt that oculus will be much better than play stations offering, in terms of what will be released, and the fact there will be more developers for it. Nevertheless, I will probably go for sony's offering for ease of use, and hopefully it'll be cheaper.  If it ends up being a bunch of tech demos, and a few fps I'll pass though.

If the PlayStation version aplows you to play existing games and blu Rays with it, just as a more immersive cinematic experience, it could be worth it for that alone.  I'm looking forward to seeing how it pans out.

I'm definitely "wait and see."  I will not be an early adopter here, but depending on how things go, I might be interested later on.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

I'm not questioning the tech, but rather its validity and value to the gaming community (i.e. I don't think it matters and I don't think it will make a big splash in the market. Ever.)

I voted other because I could have voted for more than one. I like the idea behind VR and I have yet to be able to try it. And before I form a solid opinion on it I would have to try it first. But I do agree that current hardware is not up to snuff yet. But that's alright because I'm not an early adopter, ever.
