SPOILERISH FUN TASK:

Everyone try to identify the actor who is the Stormtrooper that says: I open the restraints, leave the door open... and drop the gun.

I'm not sure but I believe it's: 007 Daniel Craig

Spoiler parts minimized, quote to read.

Welp, I just walked in to see if it was good, great for hitting me with thatWiggy. I guess I was warned.

On my front I'm finally getting around to seeing the original movies. I just saw the first one (Part 4?). I found online a thing called the "Unspecialized edition" where fans made an HD version and they removed all the special edition crap using various sources.

It was hard to put into words seeing the first one, because it was 'spoiled' by just about everything. I already knew the entire story, I know Vaders is father, I knew Obi died, Leah is Lukes sister somehow, I've seen every scene in some form though parody and references in shows I've watched throughout my life. I still liked it, but it did not engage me too much due to me knowing everything that happened already.

Luckily I know less about the sequels, I think.

It was just an educated guess.  I didn't know for sure, but it seemed REALLY likely that it would happen.  I would have been really embarrassed if I'd been wrong.

So Luke is pretty obviously Rey's father.  Who do you guys think is the mother?  I'm going with Phasma at the moment, for a number of reasons.

I actually don't think Luke is Rey's father (Jedi are forbidden to have families, etc).  While it's possible *see prequels* my theory was that she was part of the training program Luke set up a few decades ago.  My guess is she was hidden from Kylo Ren so she wouldn't be killed too.  That's why she was left on generic dessert planet 46.  Jedi mind wipe is also a thing, apparently.  It also explains her mental connection with Ren, considering they may have been part of the same training.

...I'm sorry...Han Solo went out like a bitch.  I know that scene was supposed to be emotional, and deep...but come on.  You watch Empire or Jedi and then tell me this guy gets sucker skewered by his own son.  Personally, I'd have liked to see him go down in a blaze of glory, crashing the falcon in to a star destroyer, or setting off a bomb to kill a bad guy - self sacrifice, not blind stupidity.

And honestly, the villains of this film needed work.  Grand Master Gollum was surprisingly bland and generic (fingers still crossed it turns out to be Jar Jar, lol), Darth rat face was fine until he took his damn mask off and lost all credibility.  I actually laughed when we saw his face...I am not intimidated by this guy.  At all.  Good actor, but not main villain material.  And did anyone else think silver storm trooper Brienne was a total write off?  I thought she was supposed to be this bad ass general, and she was just a waste.

Don't get me wrong - really liked the movie.  First 45 minutes were mind blowingly amazing.  And I feel the sequels will be even better.  These are minor gripes, but at the moment, they are what sticks out in my mind.

I finally got to see it, so I can now join in this discussion without worrying about spoilers!

I personally really liked it. Hell anything beats I, II, and III. But I still like the original IV, V, and VI best.

Makes me sad that Han dies... And I also thought Ren was a pussy, but maybe they will develope his character better for the next movie.
What are you looking at? You think baby's don't like video games? THEN YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT ABOUT BABIES!!

Actually, I think that's the point.  We aren't supposed to be intimidated by this guy (at least not yet).

How intimidating was darth before he was darth?  Even less so than this guy.

True, however for the first half of the film, he WAS kind of badass.  That opening scene in the village, threatening the general, etc.
The problem with a mask is once you remove it, you remove the mystique and presence that comes with it.
Hence why an unmasking usually takes place at the end of a film.

I only recall him being weak, poorly trained, conflicted and having thrown several toddler-like temper tantrums throughout the film.

I think you might be missing the point of this character.  He's not Darth Vader.  Who he is will not be the ultimate mystery of this trilogy.  It wasn't meant to be, obviously.

Vader was calm, collected and tactical. That made him predictable. Kylo is chaotic and unstable, just like his lightsabre. I find that even more threatening.

Hahn dies. Deal with it.

And it just made him look real bad. He died without even being heroic. At least when Captain Kirk died, he died with dignity. Han on the other hand died randomly and it looked lazy. Ford just did one last film for the cash.

Seriously though, I think Star Wars is overrated and very nerdy, but that's just me. Can't stand people that geek out over it and can't stand people who don't use smart phones. Those 2 ideas aren't mutually exclusive. But Star Wars geeks, I don't get them. Go watch Creed. The troopers look like they are made out of plastic. The film looked outdated and not very thought out.

And also the Princess looked very grumpy. Her and Ford were basically good for nothing in that film. No passion at all. And then Luke was taking a vacation on that island. he could have saved Han. Luke was looking very old by the way. Not a good look for the franchise.

And Luke's daughter is a nobody. Not interesting at all. Very dull in my opinion. Should have at least put a Megan Fox in that role.

2/10 wouldn't see it again. Most overrated film ever.

Ignoring flaming parts...

Agree with idiotic death of Han.

Luke's daughter could have been better scripted.

Film was out dated looking as the story was copied partially from the original trilogy.

Luke part of the story I understand as he was ashamed and waiting until someone worthy finds him.
But story partly again copied from original trilogy (Yoda).

And I too think the film is over rated... but 2/10 is bit harsh... maybe 2.1/10. ;)
Not worth watching as stand alone film, but probably worth binge watching with episodes 8 and 9 as basically those will be one whole movie divided in to 3 parts ala money whoring Hollywood.

I was disappointed when Han died, but it was for the love of his son. Wanting him to come back home with him and Leia. Kinda lazy... yes. But also sorta fitting.
I hated that the re used the "Death Star" idea... Having to find Luke though is understandable. Last Jedi and all.

I guess I'm more accepting of the movie and really really like it just because I've been a huge fan ever since my mom put the video tapes in the vcr when I was a kid.

Einhander, why do you speak? You do realize that nobody likes you or your stupid ass opinions right? I bet you jerk off on your phone since you love it so much. You're making it very hard for people to enjoy shit.

Can someone just block him and any other person that signs up with his used IP's?

Not annoying enough, and he has quieted down quite a bit.
So currently not worth it.
