Anyway. I pretty much got the answers I was looking for.
So thanks for your opinions everybody. Except Einhander... You can go play in traffic.
Oh I should ask, do you all prefer the original style or the slim? To me the slim looks like junk. Is the much of a difference?

What's your problem? I was giving you facts. I googled PS Vita 2 and Sony says they won't release it due to smartphone games, which proves my point. Now, even though there won't be any more sony handhelds, that doesn't mean we can't appreciate history and play gameboys, psps, etc.. I was just saying the future of mobile is smartphone, smartphone, smartphone.
And you need to get the original Vita because it has a better screen. That's a fact.

His problem is, you are refusing to accept anyone else's opinion on smart phone gaming - some people don't like it. Get over it. For casual games like Peggle, scrabble, etc - phones and tablets are great. For real games, including the shooters you mention, some of us hate using the touch screen. Now if you are happy to using on screen controls, or pull out a controller and somehow prop up your device when you get on a train, then you're very welcome to your opinion. I would rather have a dedicated device like the vita, or not bother at all. Different strokes for different folks.
The main reason that the vita is struggling, is because the games are so much more expensive than smart phone games. Even games that exist on both formats. Take angry birds as an example. No reason for it to cost 10 times as much on the vita. If Sony WANT to make handheld gaming work, they need to address their price structure. Same goes for their digital releases on home consoles, but that's a whole different discussion.

Thank you sheep for putting it into better words than I could. That is the best way to put it.

That, and 99% of adult men have no desire to carry around such a device. I know I sure don't. I only have so much pocket space, and I don't see cargo pants coming back in style any time soon, so big-ass electronic devices besides my phone aren't going anywhere with me aside from the shitter on my second floor.
