I'm really happy with how 2015 went. Shenske converted over 700 NES covers to Shadow Fox's new format. Banisher provided tons of raw scans with boxes he purchased online (we still have a lot of work to do there). We had a ton of cover produced for portable systems, etc.

We had no cover posted for current generation systems; Xbox One, PS4 or Wii U (there were four cover posted two years ago for PS4). So, I tried to get that jump started. Each section now has a little more than 20 covers.

Goals for 2016

SCANS
Our forums have tones of scans. One of the big problems with the scans is that they aren't flat enough to use. Many of they have a too much moire and noise to work with. So, I hope to make a video on scanning for TCP. If we can nail down scanning, our artists can produce higher quality covers.

3DS
The 3DS has been out for almost 5 years and we only have like 20 covers posted. I really want to get that section up and running. I know you guys have a shit ton of 3DS games. A dimensions hasn't been established for the 3DS but 3236 x 1373 @ 300 dpi should be the submission size. Please correct me if I'm wrong. So, lets get the ball rolling.

Xbox 360
Love for the 360 seems to have stopped about 5 years ago. I hope to upload core title that are missing from our selection.

Upload Goals
The number of cover uploaded to the data base is limited by submissions that meet site standards. If a hundred cover that meet site standards were uploaded, I'd get them all up that week but who am I kidding, that wouldn't happen. None the less, I hope the get no less than 10 covers up a week (that's 40 a month). Hopefully, that number is really double that amount.

One more thing. Right around the time Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters, I'll be off from work for three weeks (with pay). Off from works means off from TCP. If there are things you'd like to see happen here at TCP in 2016, post those desires here:

AND SEGAMER WAS PROMOTED TO COVER ADMIN!!

Lets be honest - THIS is what has really kick started the forums again.
There's no denying that the shadowfox cases, and Shenskes commitment to the NES project are beyond commendable, but actually getting covers posted to the site is what keeps it alive - and you've done it single handedly.

I know I keep saying it, but I really need to roll my sleeves up and help out.  But regardless, I would like to thank you for your contribution in time and effort.

In terms of what i'd like to see for 2016 - most of it is to do with the back end.  User interface overhaul, admin panel , new upload function that doesn't have the drop down list for game title (would be helpful if it also checked the dpi/dimensions of uploaded image, so it could reject anything incorrectly formatted for a specific case type BEFORE it ends up on the server)....

I'd also like to see more tutorials:
ie -
Vectoring with illustrator - I know there are countless tutorials online, but one that takes a game or company logo relevant to what we do here, and goes through it step by step would be great.
Drawing curves in photoshop - this STILL confuses me even after using photoshop for years/

I appreciate the complements. The videos I created for the cover project were a simple start to working with Photoshop. Using Illustator and drawing curves in Photoshop can be complex. I haven't figured out a way to make that simple and applicable to a cover creating as it's basically drawing to some degree. The videos I made are level one and it would be like jumping to level 10 (maybe not a 10 but up there). Maybe I'll just make a video for you one of these days.

My goal is still the same, which is to have all the SNES titles in the retail cover format. I will continue to buy more scan and I hope the covers can be created more and uploaded to this site. :)

I have meant to respond to this type of statement for a while but i keep getting distracted. As you guys know not all of the NES covers I have converted will meet site standards. Making 750+ NES covers I honestly do not remember which ones are the "bad ones" so they'll have to be rechecked one by one. This is a process I simply do not have enough time to do at the moment.

A simple rule can be established, if it got posted before, it can be posted again or something along those lines. From the covers I personally created, I know which are placeholders and which are not (although, they were created to be the best darn placeholders you've ever seen!). However, standards have changed, many covers may no longer meet site standards. I think senior admins will have to decide the rules.

One of my goals will be to get more scans of my games uploaded.  I don't have nearly as much to contribute as some of the other big collectors here, but one area where I think I can really help out is PS1.  It's the biggest part of my personal collection, and I would guess that only about 1/3 of my collection has a cover hosted here on the site.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

I could go into existing covers and look for errors, removing covers that have things like obvious spelling or grammar problems?  I know there's a 'known issues' post, but maybe we could do something a little more direct about errors?
I'm bender3455 on playstation network, feel free to add me!

Unfortunately us admins can't remove covers.  The best we can do is overwrite existing covers with improved/fixed versions.

Never upload a sub-par cover. There are only the new standards now and old covers should only be replaced with better new ones! No placeholders allowed anymore!

This is something I do all the time for my own purposes, and for my business(es).   I know I'm not on the forums nearly as much as I used to be, but this is one area where I'm sure I can continue to contribute.

We need to make a specific section on the forums, next to templates, for vector logos.
