Got me a Retron 5 and an Elgato Game Capture HD60 Pro today.

Yes, I know the Retron is an emulation box, but it gives me decent upscaling and HDMI output for my retro games. I prefer original retro hardware, but can't afford all the hardware needed to be able to capture gameplay and such from them, so I'll keep them hooked up to my older TV and use the Retron 5 for my streaming and such. :)

Now I have a spare Avermedia Live Gamer HD C985 that is unused.

I gotta be honest, we've have nothing but problems with ours at the shop. Of course it reads Star Fox 2, and not a single one of the other games we've sold. It freezes occasionally. Getting the controller to sync always seems like an 8 step process for some reason. Why do I have to hold the power button for like 10 seconds to turn the thing on?!  It does have quite the knack for wiping SRM files from carts, so you might want to back them up first with a product like the Retrode (which isn't even available anymore).  It takes the "shove a cartridge in and start playing within a few seconds" goodness out of retro gaming. Sometimes I need to retry a game 2-3 times before the machine recognizes it.

I want to like the thing for what it should do, but it just doesn't seem to work like it should, and definitely not how I'd like :(

I agree. I just don't understand the fascination of collecting things that you can't use.

No different to people collecting old coins or stamps.  They cant be used - the fun is in the hunt, and having them in great condition to look at.  It's not my thing, but I totally get it.

I got my Retrode 2 and all the plugins back in November. All manufacturing of the Retrode was moved to DragonBox.de and is no longer done by the original creator. However, it's fully licensed to DragonBox for manufacturing and release.

Retrode made an announcement here:

needed a good laugh, punching defenseless babies that are tied up, just doesn't seem to cut it anymore, must go MUCH lower!  :P  ;D
the cycle DEMANDS it.  >:(
...
score rayman 3 hoodlum havoc for the xbx, only two gbp.
i was looking at my 10th anniversary package for the ps2, and it has three rayman games:
1, rayman m.
2, rayman 2 revolutions.
3, rayman 3 hoodlum havoc.
comparing revolution to great escape for sdc and psx, appears to be the same game, rebranded.  ???

Xenoblade Chronicles X Special Edition - got 2 copies...1 from Best buy and 1 from Gamestop.  Preordered twice just in case one fell through and thankfully I did...apparently Best Buy still likes to mail items like that in bubble envelopes...so the BB one has a bit of damage on the corners.  Gamestop one was flawless.  When I went to pick it up the employee had actually just finished removing it from the shipment box.

Also got the normal edition since I had that preordered long before the SE.

Rodea the Sky Soldier - got both CE's.  1 Wii U and 1 3ds.  I originally intended to keep them both sealed for the time being, but given the fact that packaging didn't have any identifying marks as to what version it was I stopped caring and just opened both lol

Also, if anyone is interested in the Uncharted trilogy for PS4 (digital code), feel free to PM me, I already played them all on the ps3 so it'd be a waste for me to redeem the code.

That is strange that the two Rodea CE's didn't have anything to differentiate them.  My Xenoblade Chronicles X SE doesn't arrive until Wednesday because I didn't change the shipping from Gamestop in time before they locked it.  So I went a bought a standard edition.  This game is my game of the year without a doubt!

I like the little things they did as a nod to Xenoblade Chronicles.  Such as the Monado hair clips that Lin has or the two weapons that hang from Tatsu's backpack.  Played all weekend and barely scratched the surface!

I agree with this.  I'm not into collecting sealed games or graded games, but I understand why others do.

Besides, I'm pretty sure that N64 Guy has a full set of opened N64 games that he can play (if I'm remembering correctly).
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

If you really want to have some fun poking the hornets nest, go post at Nintendoage about your disdain for sealed collecting, haha.

What kind of baby needs to be tied up in order for it to be considered defenseless to punches?

1, a double irony, part of the cheap shot, as cheap unfunny jokes are the best.
a dark humor. :P (poc limpwristed seems to be all the rage otherwise. bores the fuck outta me.)
2, or taken literally, leave nothing to chance, baby piss and shit is rank, and assaults the senses.  :'(
