Would it be possible to set up a "Raw Scans" section under the navigation menu? That way the members with Photoshop skills can take the raw scans and create covers out of them. Basically like creating a HTML index of the FTP setup with information on how to upload raw scans for games.

I can do 1 of a couple of things. I can setup a place for registered forum members to view, dl, and upload raw scans, but the upload mechanism will be a 1 at a time, like it is for uploads. I think this would facilitate what you are trying to achieve. Yes?

That would be good although we would need some mechanism to indicate if some one is working on a cover so others dont end up duplicating effort etc....

Currently I am deleting raw scans out of the FTP as I create a cover out of them. I figured that the raw is no longer required when a cover has been completed. I dont do it however UNTIL the completed cover is up on the FTP. And in the case of PAL Dreamcast scans I rename them with a ** on the front in case SMMM whats the spine art .... although Ive been thinking of cutting the image down to just the spine in these cases.

I've been doing this as I figure I'm the only one working on Dreamcast or N64 anyway .... and I haven't touched anything else I dont deal with.

Good points. I don't know of a good way to determine who is working on what from a raw scans perspective.

Maybe create a "work-in-progress"-folder under the raw scans or the parent directory and tell people if they want to do a cover from raw scans to copy/paste the files from the raw scans folder to the "work-in-progress"? That way people would know what others are already working on. And I think it would be good to clearly point out that the "work-in-progress"-folder (or whatever name it will have) is only for original covers and not custom covers.

And TheValeman, I think SMMM wanted the front cover aswell if I remember that right, because the PAL and JPN Dreamcast covers don't have that curve on the front cover and that would useful to him for his DC DVD covers.

Hahaha ... I know SMMM wanted the front cover as well. I delete them out of the raw scans dir as I upload corrected versions to the FTP as final covers. So he still gets access to the front scans as well ... just the new version may be straightened etc... via the main site.

Just gotta get Snowcone posting them as fast as we convert them  ;D

That's some task he has though .... so patience is the name of the game .....

Hahaha, stupid me, of course it's better for SMMM to take the front from your finished covers. Talking about not seeing the forest for the trees... :)

Yeah, I guess Snowcone has a heap of covers to upload. Around 60 covers from my folder + your covers and labels + whatever other people have uploaded. He'll be one happy guy once evrything has been added :D
