PS1 "FFVIII" images wanted.

Um, not sure if this goes to requests or raw scans section.

I'm working on a FFVIII cover and I'd like some really good
scans, particularly of Edea. Whatever's on Google or Flickr is shit!

Edea is the villian early on in the game, and you'd probably be pretty hard to find any image of decent quality. I believe SquareSoft released a 800x600 wallpaper back in '99 when the game came out when had Edea on it, but of the wallpapers that Square put out it wasn't one most people picked...

I'd try rpgamer and in their propganda / official art for FF8; or a site like that.

EyesOnFF or FFOnline used to have them, but that was years ago so not sure if they'd still have em.

Again though, it was about 800x600, 72dpi so not sure how much it'll actually help.

Oh and DOOM... do yourself a favor and play the greatest RPG ever made!

I know everyone's on on FFVII's tail... but the ending is dumb, and the materia system was never as deep
as the GF's.  I personally find VIII the most single EPIC RPG ever.  Not only do your characters go through a
major growth, they also traverse dimensions to get to the last bad guy!

I suggest you play it and really tinker around with the combat system. There's great reward!

iirc Doom isn't a big fan of the FF series in general. Doubt he'll enjoy this one any more than any of the others.

Bah, thought I replied. I'm plugging through EarthBound right now (first time) and after that my soul will belong to either Chrono Trigger (first time) FFVI (first time) or Mother 3 (first time). FFVIII might be great to you and hell, could be amazing to me, but first I want to play the games with universal acclaim. *glares at my backlog*

Not to metion Best Mini-Game Every in a FF series. I had spent years of my life to Triple Triad (was an admin on 3 different online versions of TT before a real-life job and the extra finances of a home ended it)

Oh hell yeah.  The card game is addictive!
Matter of fact I just re-started the whole game and there're
still things left undone, like breeding the ultimate chocobo
and collecting the complete Card libruary.

What happened to this? If you do finish this, and you do a spine for FF Tactics Advance too?

Don't know, you could have a group of scantily clad heroes with oversized swords, spiky hair and questionable sexuality, at least for all FF games after VII

You'll see if you look at my backlog, the only FF game I own is FF Tactics Advance. Got FFIII DS from Toys R Us for $20 a week or two after release, but it was way too much of a grinding fest and not interesting enough of a story. My brother, on the other hand, bought FFVII, VIII, and IX GH (when FFVII GH was $20) before deciding he didn't really like RPG's. (which is why I can provide raws for those games)

Although FF:Tactics Advance and I are in an abusive relationship. Battle, battle, battle, battle, battle, battle, battle, battle, battle, battle, battle, battle, battle, battle, battle, battle, battle, battle, battle, advance storyline, battle, battle, battle, battle, battle, battle, battle, battle, battle, battle, battle, battle...

This wouldn't be too bad on it's own, but when most battles are like 15 minutes each... Way too long for me to really like it, but it's save at almost any time feature allows me to play it at every spare moment. Until I get a flash cart for my GBA and finish EarthBound it shall be permanently in my Game Boy Micro, great system BTW.

I'm sure you already realize the main entries in the series aren't near as combat heavy as the Tactics games.

Also, a bit off topic, but I've always wanted to respond to the "questionable sexuality" thing in FF games that KaiserWAVE mentioned by pointing out the rather... unorthodox fashions of many KOF characters since I know he's a fan. Benimaru and Ash Crimson come to mind

Of course I do. But when there are so much better and more unique RPG's that I haven't played, FF takes a backseat to Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG, EarthBound, etc. Not to mention the great non-RPG's that take less time to complete and are more critically acclaimed that I haven't beat yet (Super Metroid, every point and click adventure besides the first three Phoenix Wright games and Day of the Tentacle, Ocarina of Time, etc.) that and I haven't contributed anything besides a guide or two to The Cover Project for a long time makes me a little weary of RPG's.
