No idea, but I still jumped on it when Best Buy mistakingly listed the special edition for $40 before GCU discount.

The special edition has a spot for the sequel, so it would stink if it never came out

Both games already exist in Japan. I presume it's just a matter of time and not sales/budget (hopefully).
