I open mine. I don't really like to download games unless I really really want to play it and there isn't a physical release.

I feel like its irrelevant to scan covers for games like Limited Run releases. I can't really see there being a situation where someone would actually need a scan of any of these releases given the limited quantities and the nature of the hardcore collectors that buy them. I'm not saying they shouldn't be scanned, I just don't see why it would be necessary given how much little use they'd actually get.

Aside from archival purposes having them as a backup would be nice. You never know if your home will flood and ruin the cover or any other mishap. I do see your point though.

Well, the main ethos of the site is preservation.  For completion sake, I think it's important we have them.  Will scan mine as and when I open them (if they are still required).  For the moment, they are all still sealed, along with a huge amount of other stuff in my 'to play' list.

I've achieved all the covers I'll ever download from the cover project. My personal goals for TCP are archival. Plus, for some reason, we have members that like to make covers for their digital collection.
