I have uploaded Action 52 and Zany golf for the Genesis 3 times always picking the name next in the alphabet, but they have never been posted.  Is there a reason why, or should I get a message if something is wrong... I have lots of genesis game covers that could fill the gaps but I dont want to waste my time if they never get posted.

It might be quality issue (very high standards for covers here nowadays).

Upload to Mediafire and link here and I'll have a look.

I'll try to get my connection working so I can see the upload cue.

That's just how it goes sadly. Like Arseen said, most likely a quality issue. It would be nice if we were told why a cover is rejected but that's not how it works. I'm honestly to the point where I'm not even going to bother anymore.

If you saw the amount of rubbish that gets uploaded you'd see why we can't give feedback on everything.  I think pretty much every admin has come on board with the ethos "I'm going to give feedback on every cover that's rejected" until they spend some time going through the queue.  It's just not possible.  Please don't let that stop you uploading stuff that you believe to be site worthy though.  I personally do plenty of covers for people that are from low quality scans and don't submit them. It's just knowing the balance between what's decent and what's make-do.

I tried that for a while but stopped because listing all flaws is tedious and answers were mostly in style of: Fuck you, the quality is not that bad, quit nitpicking. ::)
So I got bored. ;)
I still sometimes answer someone directly sends me a link to cover and asks. 8)

I'm honestly to the point where I'm not even going to bother anymore.

If you want feedback just link me one of the covers you believe is site worthy and I'll see.
I might even accept it if quality is high and I manage to fix my connection which fucked up after upgrading to Windows 10 (whole computer is acting up, even after clean install. Might have do it again).

Oh, I know. I should have clarified that I understand that you guys can't give feedback. I want to stop because I'm just getting the feeling that I'm not good enough to bother anymore. I'm working with quality scans and 99% of what I upload doesn't get through. The stuff I post in the forums nobody seems to care about. So, I'm just not seeing the point anymore.

Thanks Arseen, I might take you up on that.

Thanks Arseen, I might take you up on that.

The better the cover is the more detailed response you shall have as by fixing the flaws the cover will be accepted, but if the cover is utter garbage no amount of fixing will save it and thus answer will be short and blunt. 8) ;D

not an admin but low rez art is probably  a big reason it hasnt been excepted ,  we've all been there  and it is extrememly hard to find good scans for 30+ year old games sometimes  but you can always post a link in the forum for that system and people may use it as a place holder till a better scan comes along , ive made covers that wont ever be hosted because  either they didnt make the cut or they were for reproduction carts , but i uploaded them to my box account and posted them anyhow and people download them all the time ,
ive made custom nes Dragon quest and final fantasy covers  and like i said some people use them even though they'll never be hosted

Wrong size (not matching UGC or Genesis clamshell).
Low quality artwork used.
Dirt.
Bends.

If you save them in 600dpi doesn't mean they were/are 600dpi. I't all about the source dpi quality. Low quality scans can't be turned into high res....
2 + 3 = 23

I have no issues with that. If I'm foolish enough to try and upload something using 72DPI source material or the like, I deserve it. :D

I scanned them from my boxes at 600 dpi, the action 52 is new so I had to scan it at 1200 dpi to clean up all the creases.  I can just throw the raw images up and let some one else clean it up.  and for the sizes the Action 52 is a Genesis size and the Zany golf is a EA genesis box size

I seem to have a similar issue.
My covers just won't show up on the page, although I have uploaded them weeks ago. While the covers of other people get approved within a couple of days (or even hours).

So now I am not sure, if my covers got rejected or are still being reviewed. (It would be nice to at least be notified, even if it's just a generic message.)

I would like to contribute more to the site, so it would be very helpfull if someone could give me a general idea of what the issue might be here.  :)

I have started to post my covers on the forums: http://www.thecoverproject.net/forums/index.php?topic=20283.0
