I should *hopefully* have Hagane done by tonight. I'll have to go through and make a list of all the SFC games I currently have and the repro's I want to get done and then I'll slowly grind away and getting those completed :)

Here's Star Fox, plus an alternate version using Nintendo Power cover art, Star Fox 2, and the Super Star Fox Weekend Official Competition cartridge.

yeah I think I'm going to replace all of my current CGC cover art with these once there's more of a selection, I don't have to many cases but I've only seen a few of the games I have on here so far. Once the SNES ones are offered at a lower quantity I'll just go to printing out art from here on in for my SNES and SFC games.

Any in particular you looking for? I could probably get them done over the next few days.

Agreed, my own set of covers is basically done as well. And they can be pretty quick to put together. Might have to have someone call dibs. ;)

Also, I hope to clean up the Photoshop version of the template a bit. I've picked up a CC subscription again (mostly for Lightroom) and there's still a couple text boxes that need to be properly recreated in Photoshop. Once that's done, I'll use the PSD as the main template instead.

EDIT: 1.6 is now posted, and all the various bits of text that were text in TF's original templates are text again. I also noticed that the "IMPORTANT!" tag was the wrong size compared to the BitBox template, and Nintendo's look, so I adjusted it to match the BitBox template (this does "break" existing covers, but... who's gonna notice?). Can I just say, I hate how Photoshop doesn't let you align text vertically in text boxes?

I could just list off what I have since it's not a large collection yet, if you happen to get to them  cool

Famicom
Dragon Quest 1-4

Super Famicom
Final Fantasy 4-6 (I had asked before if some one might do these two sets with connected covers but if not that's fine)

NES
Batman
Blaster Master
Double Dragon 2
Dragon Warrior
Little Nemo
Rygar
TMNT 1
Wizards and Warriors
I've got a few others but those have already shown up in the thread like Castlevania and Mario

SNES
Start Trek TNG
I've got Super Empire too but that's also shown up so I can mark that off the list.

I was also thinking it might be easier on me in the long run to have these printed out at like a kinkos or office max, any thoughts on special instructions I should give the clerks?
. . . .and man do I need to start adding more stuff to my NES collection

Dibs. :)

Unfortunately, I don't collect NES, so I'm not likely going to be doing much there.

Can't help there sorry. I tried using my color laser, which does a passable, but not great job. Now that I have my photo printer, that's doing my covers, and will do a better job than the cheaper print shops like those.

Theres a thread here somewhere about trying to get them printed at a shop, I'm just going to say don't put all your eggs into hoping that works. I went to like 8-9 areas 2 years ago, was not able to convince a single place to do them for me, one got as far as actually doing a few then freaking out after the fact and not giving them to me. It's better to just get a good (doesn't have to be anything crazy) printer and go with that. Honestly, I think it's more dependent on the paper once you get a printer. I'm using a brother printer because it's easier to get the generic ink, and once I switched to Red River paper I think they look great, even just being on a normal printer and generic ink

I've made 3 N64 covers so far and the template is all set, so they can certainly be made.

@Kaiede - Nice work on the TNG cover! (in addition to Star Wars I am also a big Star Trek fan)  ;D However, your dropbox link seems to be broken now, I can't access any of your covers.

And to put the effort in perspective a bit:

It takes more than the efforts of 1-3 people to really get stuff like this out there, and folks need to be interested in what they are doing or they'll go find something else to do pretty quickly. If we assume Shenske's 1000 hour estimate for the NES CGC cover project is accurate (and I believe it is), we are looking at about 3000 hours of work for NES, SNES and N64 Fusion covers. So what we really need is like one or two people interested in each platform and producing covers (based on their collection and requests ideally) to help get to a critical mass for that platform. And what is that? The top ~100 titles? That's looking to be over 100 hours of work for each platform, which again means you need someone who has the time and interest to help get there. To evangelize so to speak.

Unfortunately, I think most of the interest has been on SNES so far, which isn't surprising. Personally, I don't think either the NES or N64 has held up as well as the SNES to age.

Ugh. So, I've changed my workflow a bit for publishing (because Lightroom does a better job printing with ICC profiles), and it looks like it broke the link. I've changed out the one in my signature which should work and you can use to update the main post.

I'm a big fan myself, but man did typing in the copy for the back of the cover make me cringe. Sounds like a terrible licensed title, just from the terrible name they gave the McGuffin.

I genuinely appreciate the effort that's been done so far, and yeah I can understand why it may be more far fetched to do all of the N64 games in the style, there is the possibility though that when those cases hit the market that someone will start doing more of those covers in the style so I just need to be patient.

Yes TNG is a pretty bad game but it came for free with my retron so I'm not complaining
