| Madducky:
I've been very happy with my Everdrive GB and am looking at diving in to get one for my Genesis. Stone Age Gamers has a few different ones to choose from and I can't really figure the main differences between the EverDrive-MD, Mega EverDrive. Does anyone here have them? Do they perform about the same? |
| TDIRunner:
The Mega Everdrive has some exclusive features that are not on the EverDrive MD. 256Kbyte battery RAM quicker loading save states CD BIOS loading CD RAM cart feature in game menu (reset games with controller) There are several others, but those are the big ones for me. I don't have either at the moment, but I plan on getting the Mega Everdrive. The big downside of course is the higher cost. One other big downside is that some of those features will only work if you do NOT have a 32x installed. I believe this includes the CD BIOS and RAM cart features and anthing that uses the in game menu. But someone else might have to confirm that since I have not used one in person. |

I'm pretty sure it will load bios just fine with the he 32x attached, but it's been a long time since I used mine so I'm not positive (traded it off a while ago and haven't replaced it)... The on screen menu won't work, that's correct, system limitation... Biggest thing that doesn't work with the 32x, in my opinion, is master system games but again -system limitation, not Krikzz's limitation. Speaking of which, try Krikzz's site directly for clarifications v |

--- Quote ---I'm pretty sure it will load bios just fine with the he 32x attached --- End quote --- That's possible, but I know that the RAM cart feature won't work with the 32x attached for the same reason the original RAM cart won't work with 32x. Like you said, it's a system limitation rather than a Krikzz limitation. When I get my Mega Everdrive, I'm considering setting up two separate Genesis systems. One with the 32x and CD and one just with CD. |

Hmmmmm Now I have a lot to think about. I checked Krikzz's website, but I couldn't make out the real differences. I'd like to save some $$$, *BUT* I want to get the best that I can afford because this'll get many years of use. I also want it before my HD Retrovision component cable is done. I'm going to have a sweet setup!! |
