True! It may be only me, but I see a lot of disc only as well.
I guess the fact that they are almost guaranteed to self descruct when you drop them doesn't help. I'm quite happy that later generations learned from that :)

It was the first super populer disc bases system.  People didn't know how to take good care of their games yet.  Most were used to carts that could be run over by a car and still be ok. 

For the record, I knew how to take care of my disc based games, and I'm sure many of you did as well.  But most people didn't.

Why is this so true? But really either the disc is scratched to hell or looks like its been played once and put on a shelf.

I can't figure out how discs get scratched to hell.  Even the discs I'm rough with don't look like a bunch of the discs I've seen.
