Being in a gba phase, I managed to pic up a couple gba sp's.  I'm not much a fan of its size and much prefer a normal gba but this sp I couldn't pass up.

Picked up a pretty beat up backlit version so I can swap the innards...I put the front lit one in a new shell off of eBay and hopefully can sell to recoup a bit of money lol

That's my original SP :D  I gotta get a 101 screen to throw into mine, my other 3 (need to play Crystal Chronicles or 4 Swords Adventure after all!) are all 101's so the NES version is the odd man out.

I prefer SPs but I feel I'm in the minority... the folding was nice, the hands being close together is like what an original Game Brick felt like to me, and the rechargeable battery was a great plus.

Just so you know, you don't replace just the screens, you do a complete shell swap. I've already did the 101 swap to my NES GBA SP.

I'm with you.  I much prefer the SP over the original.  I want my buttons below the screen rather then either side.

Definitely not. I can't stand the original GBA anymore. Nothing against Wiggy, but I can't believe people would rather have him mod a regular GBA with a backlight. I say throw that thing in the trash and get an SP.

The SP is cool, but I prefer the shape of the original and I like that it takes disposable batteries.

Sadly, it looks like the days of disposable batteries are gone for handheld systems. Which I can kinda understand why, but it sucks.

I personally like to play the SP over the vanilla system too so don't feel to bad.

With the DS/3ds, vita and psp I've just gotten used to that type of form factor.  The sp is still a great system but it's shape and the way I hold it resembles playing on a phone a bit too much.  I can play for short bursts but after a while I get tired of having my hands intertwined.

I don't know whose hands the SP is made for, but it sure as hell ain't me. I'd rather hold on to a bag of angry bees than that brick.

This is just a personal preference, but I have never enjoyed handhelds where the screen is BETWEEN my hands.  I realize the vast number of consoles this describes, but it just feels unnatural to me.

I prefer the screen in the center, I always hated the SP.

For me it's purely ergonomics. The original GBA was very obviously designed to be ergonomically sound, whereas the SP was very obviously designed to look cool, with virtually zero regard to ergonomics.

And really, that's sorta been Nintendo's m/o with portables ever since; squares. Squares with uncomfortable hard edges.

Since everyone else is complaining about Nintendo handhelds...

I really don't like the 2DS. All kinds of awkward compared to any folding DS design.

Ok, I need some help here.  I wondering what I found today at Goodwill.  The first two are pretty straight forward.  I found a clean and CIB copy of Daytona USA for the Saturn along with a Sega Screams Volume 1 demo disc.  They were super cheap, so not a bad find.

What I'm curious about is this Skeleton Warriors demo disc.  I've never seen a demo disc that came in a full long box jewel case this like.  I thought it was the entire game until I looked closer at it.  There is no manual.  There is just a thick card stock cover in place of the manual.  The "game number" that usually shows up on the spine says "XXXX."  The rating is RP (which seems common for demo discs).  Also, there is no bar code on the back.  On the inside is a small cardboard disc sleeve which is what I would expect the demo disc to come in.  It's the exact same size as the Sega Screams Volume 1 demo disc cardboard sleeve.  I guess I'm just confused because I never thought Sega would put a demo disc in a full long box jewel case and also include a cardboard sleeve on the inside.

Is the jewel case a repro?  If so, someone put some effort into it as the cover and insert are very high quality prints.  If Sega made it, why also include a cardboard sleeve for the disc?  Why have both?  Anyways, I was just curious if anyone has seen this before?  Also wondering if it's worth anything.  Probably not, but I'm still curious.

I also found some PlayStation 1 and 2 games today.

Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."
