Ugh. Work's been a bi-... tough lately. I'll see if I can get around to fixing up the PSD this weekend.

Just to let everyone know, I've put this on hold until I see what this Sony re-branding is. Apparently they are changing the design of the PS3 game covers, so I'll wait to see if it's better to use some of these new designs in this template.

that already looks nicer than current design - let's hope they run with it (without changing spine design)

I've heard some people saying they are thinking it won't happen elsewhere because of the 360s popularity outside of Japan. As it currently stands, the artwork used on a 360 case can be easily adapted to PS3 cases, and vice versa. If they switch to this template, the cover art on PS3 cases will have to be wider than on 360 cases.

Still, the cover art for EyePet used this template, so it could change. This sorta thing always weirds me out though. Last thing I want is for my PS3 collection to be as non-uniform as my Genesis collection.

That's what we're here for though :-).

Also I wouldn't be surprised in a change of spine, Sony appears to have started to change the PS3's primary color in advertisements: Now Calm Blu(-ray), instead of Power Red.

Oh, and comparisons over the rebranding of the labels:

I personally like the shift back to the PS2 styled logo, hopefully they return with that font on horizontal tops as well ;)

Never liked the spiderman font and never really understood why they changed it.

Edit:

Alright peeps! I think I have my template 90% done. I'm sharing it with you now (and editing the first post). Any help to further upgrade the template (ESRB back labels, blu-ray logos, PAL design, etc.) would be appreciated.

Edit: February 12, 2009

Alright v1.0.1 has been completed. Here's what I have done:

- BLUS & Numbers are on their own layer.
- Attempted to add a layer for the "PSN Network" logo when the game isn't exclusive to the PS3.
- Adobe Photoshop file created (.PSD)

Things that still need to be worked on for now:
- Adding additional ESRB logos & other territory logos
- Need to find a better quality PSN logo to replace the current "PSN Network" logos at the top of the front and back.

Again, the site is welcome to host these on TCP.net's site if an admin is capable.

Sorwah's PS3 Blu-ray to DVD template (v1.0.1):
Adobe Photoshop (.PSD): http://www.sendspace.com/file/ojvnr4
Paint Shop Pro (.PSPIMAGE): http://www.sendspace.com/file/36zwtd

Here's some examples of the template:

I apologize for bumping this thread. But did this project die? Also does anyone seem to have a template for the second MGS4 image with the old PS2 style logo?

Yes, it seems to me that the project died. In the post you quoted he provided a link to the template though

Yeah, I just haven't had the time to work on it. I've been swamped in my other projects/work.

I guess no one has a template for this? I was just going to use it for personal use.

Here's the most up to date template I created if you want.

Feel free to update the thread with any changes/covers you make.
