| I have an problem with my PlayStation2 (SCPH-900001) |

The problem is, that any time i put a DVD-Video disc on it, the system does NOT recognises it as a (DVD Video) instead it recognises it as a (PlayStation2 DISC). Why is it happening? (My PlayStation2 was bought on 2004.) |

Most likely the laser going bad, do Ps2 games work? You could try to clean the laser using 90% alcohol and a qtip, but be very gentle. If that doesn't work try adjusting the pot on the laser and if that doesn't work look for a replacement laser. |
