Is there any real difference between International and FFX? I've never really read up on it.

There is more of an ending which ties together FFX and FFX-2 a little better, there are Dark Aeons to fight (these serve as extra bosses) and the Sphere Grid is different / expert level.  I think there are some other minor differences spackled throughout the game, but the overall plot and game remain the same.
