Yes! That looks about right. I used to have the game/ box and I think I scanned him before he went up on eBay. Not sure where that might be at this point.. it's been a few years.

that's what i was thinking  ;D i have a scan of the GamePro magazine and the colors look very different than those in the photo that i used to design the cover. I figure that the colors should be more like the Blockbuster logo.

it is great that you actually won the competition. very cool! you must have good memories of the experience  ;D

just wondering: if you ever find the scans, would you pm a copy to me? i'd love to have actual scan instead of a photo.

Alternate Cover:
I've changed the colors of the Blockbuster logo to match the image in GamePro magazine and the certificate.
I based the original logo on photos of the original box. perhaps the colors are faded?
I do not own the original box. The colors appear to be more orange/pale red than old gold/yellow.
I figure that the colors should match the Blockbuster logo. Anyway...

I'll download your cover once it's finished.  I still haven't reprinted my SNES covers (planning to do it soon) so I might change some of my covers around when I do.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

no problem TDIRunner  ;D
i am more than happy to share the cover with anyone interested.
i do not follow the templates at times. I like to add a bit of color and creativity to the custom covers that i design.
anyway, i'll post a link when the cover is finished...

I don't mind custom covers, but I'm pretty picky when it comes to uniform spines.  However, I know enough about Photoshop to take the front and back of a custom cover and use whatever spine I want with them.  So no need to make any changes based on my preferences.

i don't mind changing the spine for you.
tell me what you want and i'll fix it for you. maybe others will want it too.
i just play around with the templates. I don't really like them very much because they are not designed to my personal taste.
i would like more space on the back of the box and a more modern appearance.
i usually take Shenske's template as it looks nicer to me.

i never made time to learn how everyone is using the templates.
i think that Shenske likes a drop shadow on the text. I despise Adobe so i do not use photoshit.
I use Ulead PhotoImpact which is now a dead Corel product. last release was X3.
I do not know what to set for a shadow in PhotoImpact so i cannot make site standard covers.
I always label my covers as custom.

anyway, let me know what you want and i'll make it for you...  ;D

I appreciate it, but at the moment, I'm not sure what I want.  I might look at it a little more when I get around to doing my SNES covers, but I'm working on a few other small projects right now, so SNES may sit for a little bit.  SNES is low priority because they at least have some type of cover for the time being.  I'm more focuses on my naked games right now.  ;)

okay. i'll just stick with the standard spine of the Shenske template. Whenever you get around to working on your SNES collection, then let me know what you decide. I'll be happy to make changes to the cover for you.

Of course! I don't mind sharing at all! It was fun, but I only won free rentals for a year for being the champ for just that one store. Bought the game from the Nintendo Power catalog, along with the Star Fox one. I don't think Star Fox came with any sort of cover at all.

Also, I think if you made an alternate brochure the same size as an SNES manual, that would be cool.

Thanks. I'd love to have a scan of this cover.

Yes, I can make an alternative pamphlet/brochure. I want to redesign the cover anyway. I'm not happy with a few things on the last version.
I am making a manual for the game anyway.

I forgot about StarFox competition. I believe that you are correct about StarFox competition not having a cover.
interesting. i'll have to play with it a bit to see what i can come up with. i've seen a few custom covers for it using Google search.

i'll post all of my DKC Competition stuff here so watch for any updates...

I wil have to scan my personalized Star Fox comic. It has my name and previous city in it. "This kid from Westerville is definitely a star, Fox!"
