A few months ago, I wrote a master paper thread to try to end some of the questions about paper printing, as there were several threads which made it confusing for some people who wanted to start printing on what paper and paper type to use.
I've recently thought about going back and expanding it, but I would really like to have a better idea of what everyone uses.

I have a few things I would like to have on the page:

1. Brands. I heard a lot about the Red River paper, but I really haven't heard any other brands mentioned. Are there any brands you discovered were bad or unreasonable to print on, or anyone uses more than this one?

2. A visible comparison between the various formats. Would anyone be willing to send me a sheet or two of the paper you use the most to test? If so, I would happily PM you my address so I could test it against other people's favorites and post a photo of each format side-by-side to the thread. I've already seen comparisons between one or two formats on the forum, but I would like to see just how well the formats stack up against one another directly. I considered buying up a whole bunch of formats, but the total quickly added up, and I really can't afford enough to make a good comparison. If you're interested, please reply and I'll send you my address in a PM.

3. Ink settings. Do most people just print at standard quality, or high? And, is the difference noticeable enough to be worth it for high printing quality, as it uses more ink, or, on high end paper, does it not matter enough?

4. Is there anything else I've missed? Anything I should mention? Post it in a reply below.

Thanks!

I would be happy to send you an example of mine.  I think it would be a good idea to pick ONE cover, or picture to use as an example, so that comparisons can be apples to apples. I can send you the Red River matte double sided 8.5 x 14 and some glossy photo paper I use for some other covers (don't know brand name off the top of my head).

Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

Got it.  Did you decide on a cover you want printed?

Currently, I'm looking at a PS1/PS2 game that is clean and well de-screened with lots of bright colors. Do you have any ideas?

Now I'm thinking you should have two covers.  One with a lot of black, and one with a lot of color.

Castlevania SOTN has a lot of black.  That would be one good one.  Not sure off the top of my head for one with a lot of color.

Sounds good.

I'll provide one SOTN and one Mario 64 for both the Red River paper and the glossy photo papger (total of 4 print outs).

What settings are you printing at?

I'll include a sheet with all data such as printer and print settings and all of that, but I always set the type of paper (matte or glossy) and print at the hightest setting possible.

Actually, can you also send two blank sheets of each as well? I'd like to test and see if there is a visible difference between our prints, while each is at maximum settings.
