| How is the Windows 10/Xbox One streaming? |

I've been interested in the Xbox Ones new streaming capabilities (they might make me use my Xbox more!), but then I saw this - http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2015/08/07/windows-10-xbox-one-streaming-alternates-between-amazing-and-awful/ Which basically concludes that it works about as well as Onlive in the best cases, and pretty badly in the worst cases. Has anyone else gotten a chance to try it out? |

I've never used remote play on an xbox one. But I have on my ps4 to my tablet. The nature of remote play causes it to have input lag and occasional pixelation because it's operating using the Internet. There's always gonna be a small delay because the xbox is first compressing the video then sending it over your network and then the pc is decompressing it. Most single player games should be fine, unless they require twitch reflexes. I also recommend that you connect both the xbox and pc with a wired connection as opposed to wireless. The reviewer in the article is using wireless which is less reliable than a wired connection. Hope that helps :D |

I haven't made the jump to Windows 10 yet - I'm probably going to wait until November or so, just to give them a few months to iron things out. Remote Play on PS4 has been pretty impressive in my limited experience with it, which has pretty much been using it twice - once to demonstrate how cool my Xperia Z3 was, and once to demonstrate how cool my PS4 was. The small screen really takes something away from the experience though - a tablet would be the way to go, but I don't think I want to buy one just for Remote Play... I guess I should amend my question to: How is Xbox One/Windows 10 streaming as compared to PS4 Remote Play? Since I would be using them for the same purpose - playing games when other people want the TV. The projector Sony showed off at Gamescom is looking more and more like what I would want, since it bypasses all the wireless issues. Too bad it's going to be expensive. |

However, Xbox One streaming is iffy right now. I do it a lot (since my pregnant wife wants the big TV lately). I have streamed everything from Arkham Knight to Rare Replay. Sometimes the stream is amazing and perfect, other times it's laggy as hell. I should also point out that I have a $500 router and a damn good internet connection. Windows 10 is just finicky and unpredictable right now. It needs time to work out the bugs. That said, for a free service, I really like it. |
