NSMB games are sequels to 2D Marios, I think more to SMB1 than the later ones even.

Sunshine, Galaxies, SM3DL and SM3DW are sequels of Mario 64, but are more 2D tube runners than open 3D Marios like SM64 is, hence I call them 2.5D.

So I want 3D Mario with wast open worlds where you can choose your route (and have to find the route and the goal).
Add some sort of clever exp system that little by little powers you up or gives you access to additional powers.

I agree that the Galaxies, SM3DL and SM3DW are more like 2D tube runners than open 3D Marios, but Sunshine is an open 3D Mario like SM64. I too want a direct sequel or something very simlar to SM64 though.

What i want from NX is the ability to download 3DS titles for Virtual Console like the Wii U with some DS games like Kirby Squeak Squad, New Super Mario Bros. and Mario Kart DS.
And the compability with amiibo 2.0 (not yet released!)

Good games.

Nothing else matters.

Except if it's download only.
If it is = no buy = piracy/emulation here I come.

I agree,

A-lot of rumors going around about it not having a disc drive and being download only.

I saw that rumor today. If the Nintendo NX has no form of physical medium, I couldn't see myself buying it as I collect physical games.

I agree, expect that inevitably, this is where the video game industry is heading.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

There was no mentin that the patent was for NX, it was simply random patent that companies take.
And it might be that instead of discs it uses some sort of SD card type media.

Well again, I would love to see that, but I really think that companies want to go the digital route to get away from the expenses of physical media.  If the NX is a home and portable console in one, it would also be easier to use some type of Cloud based system for games rather than physical media.  I'm not saying I want it, I just have a feeling that we are headed that way.

In terms of Digital, I don't trust Nintendo. I had like 50 games on my Wii and it got stolen. Lost all my games. Now, the original 3DS I purchased, I gave it to my nephew and replaced it with an XL. When I tried to create a single account for my Wii U and 3DS XL, it didn't let me. I had to start a new account. I purchased a 2Ds for my daughter and it made me open a new account for that.  I have like 300 points on my original Wii that I'll never use but there's no way I can transfer those over to my Wii U. Unlike Apple products, PSN or Xbox Live which uses a single account for all products, Nintendo doesn't. Nintendo has a big lump of mess!

Same thing happened to me. Sent my WII in for repairs and when it came back the software was reset and games were gone.

I also lost my PSN account long ago and lost a few games. I was using an email from a non main stream email service, and one day the web site died. Just vanished. I had auto log in on so long I forgot my password. So I couldnt get in or have a email reminder sent.
