A craigslist seller was selling NA mint in box Amiibo for about $20 each.  He has a pretty large list including Rosalina, Ness, Dedede, Meta Knight, etc.
I ended up grabbing a Ness and Marth for $20 each.  I would have preferred to buy at retail, but I'm happy to have these in my hands - especially Ness.
I also decided to upgrade my Xbox One hard drive so that I can have all of my games installed at the same time (in case I just want to pop and play).
Sale at Amazon plus a $25 gift cared got a 4TB HD for $85.  So far I really love it.  And it also increases my load times with games I have played.

If anybody lives in the San Diego area, he may have a few more as the Craigslist ad is still up as of this writing...the link only shoes 3 characters, but after contacting him he gave me a much longer list

Nevermind...I found a pretty descriptive video review.  Looks cool, but only needed if you have a problem with your current hardware and haven't already disabled the lockout chip.

Mind sharing the link to the video?

Is that thing actually worth it if you have a new 72 pin connector?  Do the games immediately work 100% of the time (or close to it?)

It works pretty close to 100% of the time.  I have a few cartridges that NEVER worked before, and they worked almost immediately after I installed mine.  Every once in a while you'll get a solid gray screen, but I think that's more an issue of dust on the cartridge.  My only gripe is how tight it grips the cartridge.  With regular NES carts I have to wiggle the game to loosen it enough to pull it out; however Tengen carts are really tough because you can't grip those as well.

2/3 of my birthday presents

Is the strange English money there because it is one of the presents, or for scale? :P

New 72 pin connectors are always temporary fixes.  This is permanent, in theory.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

Maybe, just maybe you bought the last of their stuff.  Hope it works out.  Good luck.

My Wife is doing the game shopping for us. She found a nice pair of DS games and won the auction for 1 euro  ;D
yesterday she told me that the account is no longer registered  :o
i asked her if the person has sold other items before. she said yes. so i was thinking the same thing: the last of his/her items.

i am hoping that this is the case. i am a bit worried about it because i really wanted those games and 1 euro is a great deal  ;D
i'll have to wait to see what happens. the whole thing is odd.

Thanks...  Gonna have to pick me up one of these.  Well, that and a NES system.  LOL.

My Craigslist pickup and impulse buy from ebay.

The gameboy advance sp and finding nemo were an ebay purchase that I semi regret.  It was pretty beat up, has no charger and was bedazzled but I had bought it just because I assumed it was backlit and just wanted the screen anyway.  Unfortunately this wasn't one of them :( so it was a little lesson in making sure I do my research before making a purchase lol.  However, I don't have an sp in my collection so I just decided to buy a new shell and plug and just make the best of it.

The rest of the stuff was from a local guy on craigslist.  (story in the craigslist thread).  The white gba works flawlessly and is in really good shape.  The glacier one not so much.  It's pretty beat up and is missing the battery cover.  It also doesn't seem to read any game I put in.  I haven't taken it apart yet to clean it up but will do so when the new shell for that one arrives.  I'm hoping for the best but I knew the risks going into the purchase lol
