And how does the PS3 controller have more options for fighting?

The PS3 supports more controllers. A huge amount of USB controllers work with the PS3. There are a wide variety of USB controllers ranging from arcade sticks to Sega Saturn clone controllers.

On 360 ... you better get a controller built specifically for that system for it to work  (without adapters, which are a bit rare).

If you are planning on accumulating a large library for one or the other, one factor to keep in mind is that game files on the 360 (assuming you don't install the game) tend to be much smaller than on PS3.

Comparing the back of the boxes can be a real eye-opener - nearly a gigabyte required on PS3, with the 360 version clocking in at 4 or 5 megabytes - things like that. I believe that's to make up for the slower read speed of the Blu-Ray drive.

If you are only going to have a dozen games, that may not matter to you (and obviously it varies from game to game), but it can be a deciding factor when all else is equal if nothing else.

Once they patch the games, that install size figure gets thrown out the window.

I know you can put game saves on a flash drive, but beyond that I'm not sure what your storage options are. If you are just using it for disc-based games, even one of the smaller 40gb hard drives will be enough for hundreds of games. I know, because that's what I have - ~120 game files and saves, and all the patches, with free storage remaining at about ~28gb.

Obviously, it will depend on which games you have, but overall, game files/saves/patches are rather small. I personally have never bothered with flash drives, and the one time I've wanted to move from one console to another, it's trivial to take the hard drive out on a 360.

Bit of a tangent, but you might want to know: The 360 has the hard drive in a proprietary enclosure, so you need an official drive, whereas the PS3 just uses standard 2.5" drives. So you could put in a bigger drive if you wanted to, or even an SSD, if you wanted to see slightly improved performance.

They did update 360 to support external hard drives a few months ago.

Sounds like everything I wrote was a waste of time then, since, they both support essentially all the same options now. :P Still, good to know!

If by memory card you mean the xbox 360 official memory card then yes you can buy only on the far xbox 360 models (white one, or the elite).

The xbox 360 slims don't have memory card ports, I recommend a cheap 64gb flag drive or an external had.  They should work on both the fat and slim models.

As much as I prefer the Dualshock 3 over the 360 controller, nine out of ten times I'll take the 360 version of a game. Developers seemed to have a hard time taming the PS3 hardware and bugs seemed more common on the platform because of it.

Then there were the updates, so many goddamn updates. Sure, Microsoft had updates too, but they always seemed so quick and easy compared to Sony's patches.

Unless there was a notable difference in the game, like Dead Space 2 getting a bonus game included on PS3, I'll take the 360 version.

It also helps that my 360 hard drive has tons more space then my PS3, which is at capacity.
My DS Cover Requests: Anno 1701, A Witch's Tale, A Witch's Wish, Black Sigil, Dynasty Warriors, Flower Sun and Rain, Mage Knight Destiny's Soldier, n+, Time Ace

I have the Xbox 360 with only 4 gig of internal flash storage.  I get around the storage issues just by putting a larger UBS thumb drive in one of the USB ports on the back.  I don't remember how big it is, but since I rarely use the 360, I doubt I will ever fill it.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."
