Hello to all

I am using gimp and printing it with the right dimensions and on landscape but the picture is coming out small. I have done this on regular paper and on legal size and it's still small. I am not to sure what the deal is can anyone help with this?

On a side note when I use power point and rescale it to 11.11 and 7 it prints out the correct size as I have tried it in a sega case. I like using gimp because I can edit the cover a bit better. Thanks for the responses ahead of time

There must be something in the printing settings, that you are missing, which is re-sizing it when printing.

Have you checked/eliminated the margins? as if they are too big, no matter how perfectly you size the image on your screen.......if it is bleeding into the margins when it comes to print, it will be auto re-sized.

The only other thing I can suggest, as I dont use or know anything about "GIMP", is printing on A3 (if your printer can do that of course) as that is what I do and I get 2 perfectly sized UGC covers to a page after Ive made the margins 0.5 all round.

Or alternatively, thinking about how I do it.........edit the images in GIMP how you like, save them to your desktop and then just import them into Word! you can still re-size them in there and combined with what I said above is what I do every time and its perfect every time!

That sounds great I will have to try and get back to you if it works for me.  Is there a problem with me using regular sized card stock?

I have finally gotten the picture to come in at its full size..however it is being cut off just a little bit on the left side of the paper. It is not putting the picture in the middle of the paper. Damn I'm wasting all this precious ink :(

Crap.......sorry youre having trouble man, the worst part is that I bet it is something really simple and if I/anyone could just could SEE it, then it would fine.

Did you try printing it from Word? and making sure the margins are reduced and also that the image is definitely the right size?

Also, how about the A3 printing?

I did not try it in word as I cannot adjust the pic in gimp and transfer it. I did take margins off and I am using legal sized paper.

If you are still resisting Photoshop then USE WORD!!! ha ha........forget this gimp thing, surely you can just save the image to your desktop as a JPEG or PNG and then insert/import into any other programme you want?? and then you can adjust the size of it perfectly easy!! I do it literally every time I print as I I like my UGC covers a tad smaller than the standard templates/covers are saved at.

Man, I know I/many people here could fix this for you in about 8 seconds if we were there.  ;D

Here, in Word, go =

1 - Set page to landscape
2 - Go to Page Layout
3 - Select Margins - then custom margins - change them all to 0.5
4 - Now got to Insert - Picture
5 - Once imported, right click on it and select "Size and position"
6 - Look to the bottom of these options and un-tick "Lock aspect ratio"
7 - Re-size the image now
8 - PRINT!!!!  ;D ..........but make sure, if you are printing on A4/legal paper, that you have chosen the right print option as there is one for each.
