is there a new Wii U on the horizon?
FritzWhite:
I remember seeing a comparison video between Batman Arkham City or Asylum for Wii U and Xbox 360 and the Wii U was inferior, suffering from frame rate issues. That said, there are certain ports such as Rayman Legends that utilize the gamepad in such a way as to be unique and arguably superior to the other versions.
If you're looking for the latest, greatest next gen experience than Wii U is not it, but it's still cool and unique in it's own right. I like those old, rehashed Mario games, though I believe the next Nintendo NX system would benefit from more powerful hardware. Unfortunately, I heard a recent rumor that the Nintendo NX would be less powerful than PS4. I don't know if that's true, but it's a bummer if it is.

Most of the fun has been coming from the VC titles you download from the Eshop. But if you have/getting a system i would pick up the retail copy of Shovel Knight as its a great game

Only good games? Yeah right! New Super Mario, New Super Luigi, Mario 3D, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Bayonetta 2, Zombie U, Donkey Kong, NES Remix, all of the ports of PS3/ 360 games are better on Wii U, lots more.

The wii u is awesome I'm sitting at 62 games right now. There are lots of great games for it. Mk8, super Mario 3d land, nes remix, donkey kong tropical freeze, sponge bob plankton so revenge just to name a few. I'm going for a complete set which should be fairly easy to obtain.

Heard that as well, and it seems all too likely. At most, they MAY match the power of current systems. Given Nintendo's previous 'we march to the beat of our own drum' behavior, I've got a feeling it's going to be another attempt to get that Wii lightning to strike again.
Jokingly, I think their next console is going to be based on one of their most successful recent products - Amiibo! Entire games will be stored in the collectible figures, put it on top of the console to play! It will be called.... A-Wii-bo :P

This. The Wii U has lots of great games ranging from racers to platformers to fighters to just about anything. Weather they be physical of downloads the games are a blast but most people just write it off as "it doesn't have any games" because of it's criminally underwhelming launch. It's really a great system and I love it, totally worth the price at launch! ;D

This. (Is there an echo in here?)
There are plenty of great games on the Wii U, and there is still some promising looking stuff to look forward to as well, like Yoshi's Wooly World, Xenoblade Chronicles X and Zelda Wii U.

Lego City Undercover (play thru the 3DS version first as it is the prequel).
