That depends on what he is trying to say, UGC holds cartriges and CD, both of them. so he is right by saying sega, Nintendo and playstation. ;) ;D

Yes, this is true.  But I've always wondered, who in their right mind would put a disc in a UGC?

I once put one in a case to see how it would fit.  I didn't keep it there long.

I was refering to sega nintendo playstation

To be honest, this is sort of what I figured you meant (other than maybe the disc games).  But you do need to be careful when you say that ALL games will fit as there are a lot of big collectors here with a lot of different types of games.  When we hear "everything," we assume EVERYTHING.

All you designers out there are trying to design cases that fit either a standard dvd case or a UGC style or sega case
The case is the same side however it has multiple slots to add into the case

Basically you can all design the case artwork the same size as the generic sega box but inside the case you can fit different cartridge slots properly
No more hacking up cases to make them fit

Ideally we would all like 1 standard case for our collections with different games in it

Thats why the designers on here are wanting to unify the case artwork?

I suggested the removable tray/holder idea about 3 or 4 years ago when Seymour onion was trying to have cases made.  I agree it would be perfect, as you only need 1 mould for the case, and any trays can be optional.  They could even be made from card, like an original snes tray.  And an empty case, without any innards can be used to store all sorts of things, from cables, handhelds and controllers to promo materials.

Am I the only one who would rather not have a single unified case for every cartridge?

Truth be told, I enjoy the specific use of each game case personally. It would have been easier for me to have just created a case in the dimensions of my NES cases to house the Genesis game carts (And would have only cost about half the price on my end) But I felt that keeping the cases conforming with the originals would be truer to the preserving of the collections as a whole.

Where I stand is that I already passed the hardest (and most expensive) part, all the other cases to follow will be following close with the Gameboy/ NES/ or Genesis templates.  :)

And things are going to come very fast here very soon. I'll have a total of 5 game case types by year's end and next year's end I should have 25-30 game case types. :P

If I was mainly doing this for money I would have totally done the removable tray idea, but making game cases is more of a passion and desire of quality rather than cranking as much profit as possible out of it.... for me anyways.  :)

Yes, very well said. And it looks like I'm going to need some more money! Can't wait to have all my games in cases.

you guys are right in one instance but by the looks of it your all in the USA

Here in the UK there are thousands of collectors WHO CANT GET HOLD OF UGC cases

so why not design a case that can be sold

Also I own a printing company, capable of printing the inserts, sleeves and boxes on IDENTICLE material as the ORIGNALS

You cant get that at your local staples or DocEx company certainly not for prices we can be charging

Yes i am a busniess owner, and can design a webshop and make and sell these products

Im sure SHADOWFOX isnt importing and designing these case free of charge or for the love of gaming KUDOS get paid for his cases.

I am in the UK and we will print covers for people who want them via our new website, which hopefully will cover all cases and all covers available today

If your a designer doing the mint cases cover artwork why not get paid

People are only going to download and print anyway, you may as well get a little back for your work

lol, I ain't going to lie, profit is made (or will be later) but I'm moving things forward as a gamer rather than a business man. I had to go attain a business licence due to the volume of gameboy cases I moved last year. But no, at this time, all my funds are going right back into new molds and products. (And artwork) I'll get my profits once all the molds are built and my volume of cases and types are all in stock. Nice thing for me is that the game case funds do not effect my day-to-day life, I have a full time day job running a warehouse on top of all this. If you think I solely do game cases for the money that is a bummer, I hope you will come to know me better as time goes on.  ;)

I understand that you are already moving forward with the mold, but I have been constantly looking for people in other countries who would want to order a 20' container load of my game cases. About 40% of my sales are international and about half of them are in the UK. Someone would make a killing if they ordered thousands of cases at a time and stored them.

Same with the UGCs if you were wanting to order a mass amount of UGCs for the UK I would ask 'How many?' I have communications with the owner of the UGC mold.... I'm not saying for sure I can make something happen but I can totally try for ya!
