The model 1 uses the same cable as the model 2, but with an adapter that allows it to plug into the larger port on the back of the model 1.

I thought it was something like that.

I decided to try Gamestop's new Retro sales through their website.  I bought these two over the past week:

Since I work at Gamestop, I get 15% off on top of the usual 10% for being a Power Up Pro member.  Also, when games are ordered in the store there's free shipping.  Duck Tales cost me $16 total, and TMNT was $40 total.  I really wanted to see if the Genesis games came with cases & manuals, or if they are cartridge only.  Hyperstone Heist was only the cartridge, but it is in very nice condition.  The label is clean and sharp, and looks like it's had very little use.  Same with Duck Tales - it looks like it's never been used.

I'll continue to order more Genesis games, as most of the prices are reasonable with my 25% discount.  Maybe I'll get lucky and some will be complete.  Plus, I can always return it to my store if I don't like the condition of something I receive.  The shipping boxes they use are large enough to fit an original case, so I don't think that would be an issue.  Plus, since these aren't sold in stores, space constraints shouldn't be an issue at the warehouse to the point where they would discard cases like some stores do for certain games.

I decided to try Gamestop's new Retro sales through their website.  I bought these two over the past week:

I ordered a couple of games too and am rather impressed with my purchase. I got Double Dragon III and Castlevania III on NES.

Both were nice and clean inside and out. It looks like there was a small amount of permanent marker (someone's initials) on the Castlevania III cart I purchased. They almost completely removed the permanent marker from the plastic shell but did not touch the label. I am really glad they didn't try to remove it from the label as i have see some people really damage the label. It was a very small amount of marker on the label and i removed it myself.

I am guessing they open up the carts and clean the inside of the shell. Mine did not have even the slightest amount of dirt, grime or dust. I couldn't smell any odors from the carts either so i don't think they used any really abrasive cleaning materials (simply guessing).

My Double Dragon did come with the original manual and both were in great condition. Both carts fired up on the first try as well. Very happy with my purchase and if the prices stay aggressive with what VGPC has them at i will continue to purchase more.  ;D

I got a fairly good deal on eBay, all this for $80.

It was posted used, but untested at $130, as the seller did not have any SEGA CD games. I told them Music CDs worked in the SEGA CD, and they told me the system did no power on. I looked around and it seems not powering on means there is a blown fuse. The price on the listing was lowered to $100, I asked what the lowed they will go and they said $80.

Just so you know Larry. I came up with a great fix for the Sega CD fuse repair to where you won't have to do anymore soldering if it ever popped again. I picked up 2 Sega CDs both with a popped fuse. A model 1 (which I like better) and a model 2. I can show you what parts you need if you want.

Sure, I can't solder so I was going to have a friend who can do it for me (I also got a SNES with a broken jack I need him to do) so having a one time solder fix would be nice!

I also have a model 1 with a bad fuse.  I've never gotten around to fixing it because I have two working model 2 CDs.  Do you have a link or list of what I need for the model 1.  Soldering isn't an issue as long as the connections aren't super small.

Ya, I just sent Larry what He needs to get /do to make his work. The model 1 is a lot nicer to fix because it has more room inside it. I'll think I may just take a few pictures and make a little write up so it will be easier to understand.

I bought these from best buy.

And I bought these from Meijers. Samus was $8 and Bayonetta was on clearance for a whopping $2.99!

I hit up the local flea markets for the first time in a while since my weekends have been pretty busy and because it's been raining almost every day.

Nothing super fancy, but everything was well below market value.

GameCube
  Super Monkey Ball
  Sonic Riders
Shadow the Hedgehog (not super excited about this, but I kind of wanted it in the collection)

PlayStation 2
  Katamari Damacy
  Devil May Cry 2
  Onimusha 3
  Eve of Extinction
  Dynasty Tactics 2
  Prince of Persia Warrior Within
  Crazy Taxi

PlayStation
  Disney's story Studio Mulan
  Marble Master
  1Xtreme
  IHRA Drag Racing
  NHL 2001

PlayStation Portable
  Rush
  First Blood (UMD)
  Beavis and Butt-Head (UMD)

Genesis
Zoop CIB and super clean cart

Sure Mel.  :D

I already have the back of NHL 2001 scanned in my scan thread.  I never owned the game and didn't have the manual.  Just found the insert with a large lot of games a while back.  I saw the game today and thought, HEY!!!, now I can scan the front.   :P

picked up Splatoon today. It's actually not to bad of a game so far. Sucks that it's pretty much an online only game though.

Well, there is a single player campaign, but it's not particularly long or tough. The local multiplayer is surprisingly fun though.
