Anyone have suggestions on how to handle the mold / mildew damage?  I am thinking I am scraping the entire artwork and manual portion of every case?  How would you guys recommend cleaning the actual disks before I use them on my personal system?

Here is what the artwork and the manuals look like after they were carefully peeled from the cases from most of the lot.

My dad used to work in mold removal, so here is some basic info -
As for labels/manuals - it is almost impossible to remove mold/mildew from paper, so these are most likely garbage.  If one has a small bit, you may be able to rip that part off, however from the pics a lot of it is not salvageable.

As for the discs, this will depend on how bad the damage is, however start by removing any clumps or physical pieces of mold that you can.  For the residue or light spotting, some rubbing alcohol (possible diluted with water - i'm not sure how discs handle this stuff) is how to remove it from various surfaces including glass and metal.

Finally - and this is important, make sure none of it is black mold.  If it is dark green, you are fine as that is 99% non toxic, however black mold can be deadly and self replicating, meaning it will reproduce on its own forever - like hazmat suit stuff, so just make sure everything is the green kind.
NOTE - this stuff is not common, and it doesn't look like it from the pics (just very dark green).  It is also unlikely that these would be so lightly covered if it was actually black mold - still, better safe to double check.

Here's my genesis pickups for the month

All complete in box :D
I plan on putting Earthworm Jim 2 and Shining Force II into a clamshell later, and I need to figure out how to store my Game Genie.

Also managed to snag a revision 1.00 Revenge of Shinobi, has Godzilla, Rambo and all the other unlicensed bosses.

Only have a few more games that I really want on the Genesis now.

Here's what I got this weekend!

Found the PSTV for 40 bucks on Amazon last week and took advantage of Gamestore's 3DS trade in deal and traded in a gifted 2DS for the 100$ credit towards that spiffy new 3DS  :)
N64 RGB board for my Ice Blue N64 :) and a cool PS2 to HDMI adapter (pretty much component ->digital signal).

I'm pretty sure that applying peroxide would damage the label... Not to sure though never tried it though. I have however done the heat that shit up method, most of the time it works perfectly fine and as long as you take it slow it should come off great.

If some of the sticky stays on the cart, go to walmart/hobby lobby/or something like that and buy one a sticker maker for $20. Make it sticky again and there you go.

But then you could try that mix of junk stuff on it and it should clean it up.

Alright then. Heat it w/ just a hair dryer?

Not sure if you have that deal locally, but the PS TV bundle with the controller, lego game and 8GB card, hdmi cable, usb cable is 49$ (CAD) at walmart. At that price, it's hard to pass on it if you are searching for an extra controller.

That's the deal that I found a few weeks ago.  However, they PS TV without the controller, game or memor ycard at Wal-Mart was THE EXACT SAME price.  It's seems kind of wierd that they would make the two different bundles for the same price.  I'm guessing there is some miminum price that Wal-Mart can mark it down to and both bundles are at that minimum.  While the smaller bundle may not see as good of a deal, at some point the large bundle is going to be gone and when that happens, you are still getting a PS TV for less than half of original cost.  So it's really that that terrible of a deal.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

I saw that exact bundle on sale but it was sold out online and locally. I wasn't in need of it but just like you said it's not that terrible of a deal, and I had a spare couple bucks so why not.  8)

Not a pick up but I did this at work today. Someone else will pick it up/ already has.
2 nerdy bakery items.

I had to decorate 6 giant cookies (The size of an LP) and I snuck a drawing of Freddy Fazbear from five Nights of Freddy's on one of them. I also did that nice beach one.

Also a mother came in and wanted a cupcake with some kind of TMNT theme, I did not have any small thing to stick on it, but luckily we had green cupckaes so I quickly drew a mask and mouth on it. Apparently the kids favorite was the orange one, but all I had was blue.

Nice.

I used to decorate cakes when I worked in the bakery at Schnucks back in my home town.  Man that was a long time ago.   :P
