I have Windows 7 64-bit, I'll dig around my PC for them.

Decided to accept it as Windows 10 can't be more fucked up than Windows 8.1 is.

But if it is I can always go back to Windows 7 Ultimate.

Where/how did you get the upgrade offer.

If your PC is fully updated (via Windows Update), AND the compatibility checker determines that your computer meets the minimum requirements for Windows 10 (RAM, CPU instructions, etc.), a little Windows icon shows up in the lower right hand corner of the desktop. Click it, and it opens a window telling you about the new release in late July, encouraging you to sign up to download it automatically once it releases.

You don't have to do it through the desktop alert though - once it's been released, it'll be a free download for the first year from the MS website.

Great, will have a look for that.  Pc is only a month or so old - high spec, and up to date, so must have just missed the icon.

Thom Grayson:

I have a new Windows 8.1 tablet (Cintiq Companion 2), and even after being fully updated, the icon didn't show... it took a restart and a day or two before it popped up. So don't be too worried if you don't see it right away; there's still a month until Windows 10 releases!
