Hmm, I'm gonna have to go back and run through it again. When I get to end game I would normally just take all my party to shady sands and leave them there. Or just go solo through the game because they seemed more a pain in the ass to tag along.
I actually remember Ian dying more than anyone or him killing me because he loved to use burst and he was a good aim. Lol.

I hated taking Ian with me...he never did help as much as I'd have liked. He also was a bit of a baby and running off memory from a long time ago, if I ever told him to stay somewhere he would get offended and never rejoin me.
Dogmeat though was always a permanent follower in my games, I was never able to leave him behind.
