Nintendo @ E3

“I was literally shaking with anger during that conference. Tears formed in my eyes and my fists were clenched. ‘Announce something,’ I shrieked at my computer,” one especially aggrieved user said. “I'm 31 years old and this was, without a doubt, the worst conference I've ever seen in my life. It's clear that Nintendo is not just done with the Wii U but done with the company. There is no recovering from a conference that bad.
“I loved this company and put my heart and soul into dedicating my gaming life to them. But now, I have nothing. I'm an empty shell.”

I don't know why they don't make the 3ds compatible with the Wii U. That one seems obvious to me.

Honestly, people really need to calm down. The above post, while thankfully not vulgar like many others, is way too dramatic. It just reinforces the stereotype that gamers are emotionally immature. Knee-jerk reactions/opinions benefit very few.
I'm a 31-year-old who has been playing Nintendo games since 1987. Nintendo consoles and handhelds are all I've ever owned. I consider myself a very big fan, but I also consider myself to be a rational person. Sure, this Digital Event didn't include the greatest line-up of games, but it did not warrant the incredibly negative reaction it received from many Nintendo "fans". I am ashamed to be associated with the likes of those who immediately started forsaking the company and voiced their displeasure in so many disgustingly ineloquent ways.
I have no qualms about people voicing their displeasure, but I hope they allow themselves a few minutes of consideration before doing so, and that they don't act like complete jackasses in the process. I would absolutely dread being on trial for my life in front of such a jury -- no innocent person would stand a chance against people who convict so quickly.

Damn it, I recently watch a preview of Metroid Prime: federation force and...(moment of silence, Rip metroid)... I have no word to describe what I'm thinking right now. like some other said, if the word " metroid" is remove from the game there won't be any problem, the game looks fun, but is not a metroid game.

Left and right, all I hear is how terrible Nintendo has become and how they're dying and this that the other thing. In my eyes, Nintendo has been the same since the end of the SNES era. Yes, unquestionably (at least in the US), they dominated the NES era, by a mile. I don't know of anyone in the NES era who had even heard of the Master System. And they were the pretty damn clear winners of the SNES era too -- a shorter margin maybe, but they were still the winners.
And since then, they haven't been the winners, nor do I think they have really even been trying to be the winners. Plain and simple. They've focused on what they wanted to focus on, they've went their own way, they've bucked the trends and done what they wanted to do rather than what the so-called "experts" say they "should" do. Sometimes it's been a home run hit -- look at the original Wii with its motion controls that were poo-poohed by Microsoft and Sony right up until they were aped (and poorly at that) by Microsoft and Sony once they realized the Wii was giving Nintendo NES-style dominance -- and sometimes it's been a weak pop fly -- look at the N64, some solid titles but paled in comparison to the Playstation and really if you go back and look at it without the nostalgia lens, most games pale in comparison even to the ill-fated Saturn.
Yes, obviously every company wants to make money. But Nintendo is focusing on gaming first and (in my opinion at least) innovating a whole lot rather than churning out yet another Call of BattleHalo WarDestiny: Source 6 or Madden vs Fifa vs NBA vs Tiger Woods vs Forza: Ultimate Cage Match 2016.
So I guess I just don't see the doom and gloom about the company, and the "Oh god they're abusing their fanboys" and whatnot. Then again, I also really don't watch E3 announcements and I don't wait with baited breath for midnight releases anymore. I buy my handful of new games a year and mostly stick to my retro titles. So perhaps I'm not the same type of gamer as most of the ones I run into.

The funny thing is, Nintendo IS the winner, and has been for a long time. They're FAR more profitable than both the Playstation and Xbox divisions (of their parent companies). They know exactly what they're doing, and they've learned how to market to their customers extremely effectively.

Given the reactions to this latest E3, there appears to have been a hiccup in the extremely effective marketing to their customers. Though I'm sure they'll be fine... people love Nintendo too much to stay mad at them.
