Printable cd's.  Don't use sticky labels, they alter the weight distribution of the disc, and are not good.

As far as Im concerned.......if mods here have a problem with pirating, then that would be pretty strange as essentially EVERYTHING we do here (from zombi'ing and using art for our covers we do not own, to many people who make covers for games they do not own legally) is a form of piracy.

So yeah, as long as we arent posting direct links to downloads on the boards that some company could come along and say we are directly promoting game piracy, then we should be fine.

Also, as far as these Homebrew games.........these ARE pirate games in effect to begin with! lol, unofficial games made by unauthorised developers who are exploiting a fundamental flaw in the DC.

As for covers..........youre in luck Einhander! as I have been and am still making covers for these games!......we have a few hosted on here like Castlevania: Symphony of Destruction and a few others. I will be making a Fast Striker one soon so anything else you want, let me know via a request in my thread (linked in my signature below) and either will be or can make whatever you want.

Ohh and do not worry about the download, its simple, easy and safe as long as you are using the right host (which I am sure you are being linked to via PM right now).

But I specifically wanted Gunlord and Sturmwind (two we dont have, one you want and one you SHOULD want!) and so here they are for you man =

Gunlord - Region Free (Added English Translation) N.G. Dev - Black and Orange Custom

Sturmwind - Region Free (Added English Translation) - Black and Orange Custom

Ohh and here is my Alien vs Predator one that I just love and am particularly proud of, as an incentive for you to get this awesome and never ported to home console game!  ;D

Alien vs Predator (Beats of Rage Engine) - NTSC/Region Free - Custom

Very nice work, impressed. I also wrote you a request in your thread.

Also, do you know anything about disc (cd) covers? I read something about people printing disc covers. Have no idea how you would cut and paste the art onto a disc.

Cool man, thanks.......got your requests and they are ALL ones I wanted to and had prep to make anyway, so thats cool. You are obviously a big SHMUP fan like myself so we have the same tastes there.

Also, do you mind/like the black spines I do? (most people use/prefer white) - if you would prefer white let me know ASAP as I will need to make two versions for myself (black) and you.

I shall weigh in on the CD thing too =

1 - I wouldnt bother with the labels as to be honest, as Sheep pointed out, if you use sticky labels to attach to a disc then it can cause issues......and printable CD's can be a bit of a nightmare.

2 - The quality of your CD's is key, I tried to scrimp on them a little and the different between those and the ones I use now is HUGE........I use Verbatim CD-R's AZO.....DO NOT use CR-RW's, and the AZO classification makes a huge different in quality as well so I can only really recommend those as they are the best as I see it.

Back to the covers, I am have a lot of real world work at the moment so wont be able to get all your requests done very quickly but I will post them back in my thread and also PM you as I do them just in case you dont spot the updates in there.

Cool, enjoy your DC SHMUP gathering!! so many awesome games.........check out Border Down and Under Defeat if you havent already (and I have done covers for those), as well as the colossal Ikaruga and another homebrew one called Last Hope: Pink Bullets.

I believe I use Sony CDs for homebrew burning and never had a problem.

Ohh sure, I wasnt saying that the ones I use are the ONLY way to go (probably sounded like that).......just that after all that ones I have tried (not including Sony CD's), the Verbatim CR-R AZO's are the only ones I can recommend as being superb.

Good deal, I appreciated it. It would be great if you can PM me like you said, but it's okay if you can't get to it right away. Yes, I'm a huge Shmup fan. I'm definitely interested in the ones you mentioned as well. It's ironic because I have shmups for Saturn, PS1, and 360 but I never knew I could do it this way for DC. A lot of great shmups but most come at a hefty price. I don't mind supporting some indie devs at times, but I gotta get a head start with my DC collection and the covers on here just make having games way more interesting.

I guess you're right, maybe the printable discs wouldn't be ideal? What about putting any small label on it with lettering, just so I don't mix cd's up?

Never had a problem with printable discs myself.  But, haven't used them in a while.  I buy all my games.

I was PRECISELY the same man! lol..........always wanted a DC for the SHMUP library but knew I would never be able to afford the games I wanted so didnt go with it until I found out about the laughable protection it had!

I also would support the homebrew guys but man are they expensive and sell out quick as hell........then double/treble in price of course.

As for differentiating discs......Im with palmer6strings up there! sharpie all the way! lol.

Ohh, and sorry, I dont quite know what you mean about a PM?.......I didnt mention that in my post, did you mean palmer6strings who offered to direct you to some DL sites?

Oh it was about how you mentioned you'll PM me when you've completed the cover artwork. Looking forward to it. As far as the spine card goes, I didn't even know that people printed those! But black should do fine. Have you ever done any artwork for digital games?

Ahh I get ya......sorry, forgot I said that.  ;D

As for digi games, I have indeed and am getting ready to do many more!!........only done a couple of Wii U ones so far (my own version of Shovel Knight and Ducktales: Remastered).......why, what do you have in mind?

Also, I just posted this in my thread but thought I would double cover it here in case you missed.........but DUX 1.5 is done! =

Right, so got fed up of my work and decided to knock one of this up.

Found a couple of covers for it but did not like the quality (resolution wise), so cleaned up the front a lot and then decided to completely re-do the back.

The translation on the back was especially TERRIBLE (felt like it was either purposefully "Engrish" or just done for a laugh) so completely re-typed all that with a new font, added some nice shadowing to make it stand out, new high-res screen caps, cleaned up and shaped the ships and the HUCAST logo........and........ohh yeah, brought in the "Version 1.5" on the front and spine as no cover exists for that version, so decided to just incorporate it into this one.

Hope you like it! and if the white spine preferring people want one then let me know.  :P
