Another interesting Kickstarter campaign.

I've been following this guy on facebook for a while now, but didn't realize he was starting a Kickstarter campaign until today.  This is fairly similar to a Kickstarter that I funded about 6 months ago for component cables for the Genesis and SNES, but this one includes support for the TG16 and PC Engine.

Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

I don't know where from, but I know I've dealt with Shawn before... Looks like just an external rgb to ypbpr box, but still near at a reasonable price

The side-by-side shots look awful to me. The color is waaaaaaaay off (far too green) in all the shots using his device.

I thought that too.  Assumed it was low contrast on my iPad.  They look really washed out.  Especially that sonic title screen.

Really? I thought it looked too blue...

Either way, yeah, it looks really off compared to the original. It's extremely washed-out looking, and in no way accurate to the original colors.

I was thinking the same thing.
The color palette changes hints to that. I prefer the retrovision product.

Hey i just wanted to clarify why the colors look off and washed out, we had a really hard time finding a capture device that would capture a 240p signal, we ended up using the Roxio Game Cap Pro, and it captures everything really dark. We tried tweaking the settings but it didnt really work out too well. Also we had to use a different capture device to capture the composite screen shots, as the Roxio does not take composite. There will be some new screen shots posted in the updates page of the kickstarter and you can see what it really looks like on a LCD

The Elgato Game Capture HD captures anything I tossed at if, from NES to modern.

Here is some of my footage from the N64, I have no NES or SNES previews off hand. The video is always exactly how it looks on the TV.

I was told that the Elgato would not take 240p over component, just composite, so we did not try that one. I will get one and try it out thanks.

Ok so looks like the Elgato is not going to do it either unless they do a further update to support it.
