to cover makers: where do you get your art?

AppleQueso:

A simple question. What websites, etc, do you get all of your hi-res art (or maybe art in general) from? I figure it can only benefit the community and the project to have one convenient place with links to websites with hi-res source art.

Vt102:

Most of the art that people work with is from their own scans or from scans uploaded into our RAW section.

Other than some random pictures found using google or yahoo, I have not found any site that offers high quality scans like the ones we need. Except maybe gamescanner.org. He has some good stuff.

Well, to be more specific, I'm asking those who make custom covers. I understand that many come from personal raw scans.

KaiserWAVE:

Scans from artbooks, high quality fan art or any piece of artwork found via google that meets the requirements of the site and fits the personal tase of the cover artist. There are a lot of websites that specialize in one aspect of gaming, like sites that have all sorts of info and art for RPGs or Beat 'em ups, to name the most popular genres for that kind of thing. Some of our most talented artists even use artwork (e.g. wallpapers) found on the net and partly recreate that artwork for their personal nterpretaion of the cover.
