Catherine?
TDIRunner:
I guess my biggest concern is having time to paly through a game with a lot of cut scenes. My game time is so limited right now that it's hard to play a game with long cut scenes unless I just skip through them (think Metal Gear).
Megatron:
Like Dravenae said, it's part dating sim, so the bar cut scenes are half of the game. Unlike Metal Gear (that has a million different ways to play) there isn't much to do besides the same puzzles and cut scenes. Truth be told, the gameplay in this is VERY repetitive, even for a puzzle game. There are 9 levels I think, where basically the only object is to reach the top. For me, the cut scenes were a way to take a breather between very tedious climbs (I'm looking at you, chainsaw baby). But if the puzzle aspect is what drives you, then I "think" there is a mode to just play the puzzles and forget the story all together.
Addendum: According to youtube, all cutscenes added together, plus a single ending, is about 2.5 hours. That doesn't count the puzzle times...which depending on skill could take hours each to figure out. Compare that to the 9+ hour MGS 4 cut scenes, and you have a significantly shorter game.

Yep. There are 9 levels, each with a number of stages (except the first level) and all share the same objective. It's a very niche game and it is repetitive. It's definitely not for everyone.
TDIRunner, if you're looking for a puzzle game to play, then you could do a lot worse than Catherine (it's by no means bad, just repetitive and challenging). If you haven't played Portal 2 (what are the chances... ::)) then that might be a better choice, because I think all the story elements unfold during gameplay - the game isn't segmented into a series of cut scenes interrupted by gameplay (yes, that was an odd way of putting it) - except for the introduction and ending.
tiktektak:
I liked the whole premise of the game and the graphics looks gorgeous.
BUT
THOSE F*ING PUZZLES!!!!!!!
After two thirds of the game I simply had to give up as the difficulty was so insane I was getting nuts. Not Dark Souls difficulty but insane coming forom hell impossible fuck you in the face difficulty!
Umbra:
As far as the earlier comment goes (think it was Arseen), I'm not one of the multitude who is horribly offended by sexual content; just really picky when it comes to Japanese games since there's such a variety. I'm interested in the story, so I'll probably pick it up if I can find it.
Like I said, all I really knew about it was that it's an Atlus game and that doesn't help me much since I barely know anything about the stuff they put out, except for story-driven stuff that can get pretty crazy.
